as a Texas Ex, I receive the occasional phone call from the university soliciting donations. Nothing is worse than seeing the 512 number, answering, then hearing somebody on the other end ask for money that I don't even have. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.Babe-Loblaw wrote:+1000! The guy who called me said 10-14 days for scholarship info. I was accepted 2/2, but I'll post when I receive it.lawnerd87 wrote:I've recently been accepted! It's normal not to get scholarship information with the acceptance, right?

In! Saw I had a voicemail from a 512 number today and went into shock. I am completely surprised. out of stater, no "Why Texas" requested or submitted. 25th<LSAT<50th 50th<GPA<75th. Complete 11/15. Is this real life?

Congrats! Did you have strong softs and/or are you a URM? I'm curious to know because we have the same stats and UT is the last school I'm waiting to hear from.Js1482 wrote:In! I'm not URM and I'd say my softs are rather unimpressive. I did attend undergrad and grow up in a state that borders Texas. Idk if that made any difference.Lawser24 wrote:Congrats! This gives me hope. 161/3.85, K-JD from SEC, no Why Texas, and strong softs, as well. I submitted a little more than a month after you, though.tsporl wrote:160/3.85 graduated UG in 3 years & I have some pretty strong softs!chili_davis wrote:Congrats! Mind sharing stats? I stopped checking my status checker because I automatically expected rejection.RC_Cola wrote:mind sharing timeline? did you submit a Why Tx?tsporl wrote:Just got the call! In from out of state!

Lsat =25, GPA about Median, applied in November. Does anyone know if they provide travel stipends to visit?
Did your app status change to "under review"? I've heard some people say it doesn't I think but I wasn't sure
Yikes! I'll be coming from California- I'll email admissions and post what I hear about reimbursement/stipends.
My app status did not change until this morning after I got a congratulations email from admissions.
I told them "Hey listen here. You better admit Tx878 ...or else." I think they took it well
I got information about travel:
The Law School is offering a need-based scholarship (up to $300) to offset your travel expenses to Austin because we know visiting us is an important part of your decision-making process. To be considered for this scholarship, you must complete the Travel Scholarship Information Form. We will notify you if you are selected for a scholarship.
You have an additional opportunity to visit as well. We are designating Friday, March 31st as Admitted Students Day II (ASD II). ASD II consists of a program designed to introduce you to the Law School community. You are eligible to receive this scholarship until April 14, 2017. Travel scholarship offers must be redeemed in person during your visit.

Thanks for sharing! It seems like they're really starting to move on kids around the 25/50 LSAT range, I hope that's a good thing...Js1482 wrote:I'm not URM and I'd say my softs are rather unimpressive. +1. NRTE and Tom C.Clark Scholarship. Not bad but I'll definitely need more to consider going. I'll probably submit the scholarship reconsideration form if my scholarship situation w/ Vandy, Georgetown, and Duke doesn't go any better.NotAGolfer wrote:+1, in addition to NRTEEarlskies wrote:Samepoptart123 wrote:Got scholarship info today. I received my acceptance January 24th and received my scholarship notification (rather lack thereof) today, 2/8. General consensus seems to be about 10-14 days from acceptance until the scholarship email comes.lawnerd87 wrote:I've recently been accepted! Texas has pretty much been accepting people every day, right? There's no particular day of the week when calls go out, is there?

Did everyone get the email about Justice Center Scholarships and the Texas Law Class of 2020 Admitted Students Facebook page?
I haven't received my decision yet but received both emails, respectively yesterday and today. Wondering if it's a mistake or if it's been sent out to everyone...
