I thought they didn't do twitter announcements. I couldn't find announcements for past waves.

I also don't think its happening today

Last cycle, there weren't any JS1 waves this late in the year. Of course, you could always go waitlist->JS1->admission.

In years past, I gather that there've been JS1 waves super late in the cycle, and then JS2's given out a week later. So it's possible.

If I were you, I'd hold out hope until tomorrow. After tomorrow, I'd start managing expectations. I think the odds of another JS1 wave with less than 2 weeks until the due date are quite low.

The more realistic hope is that you'll get in off the waitlist; the best estimates we have say that about 1 in 4 people do. Those aren't bad odds, and even if they aren't great odds they're better than the odds of a JS1 next week or later.

does H do several JS1 interviews simultaneously? how many slots they usually do in a day?

Also seriously, how do people keep discovering how many slots there are/when they are? Is there a secret website I know not of? Enlighten me, o wise ones.

If you've been invited to interview you can access the calendar where you schedule one, even if your interview is complete. The calendar shows which time slots are still available or which days they're holding interviews but the slots are full.

When you see an available time slot, could it be that 2 or more can register for it and there could be more than 1 interviewer conducting intvws simultaneously?

They typically interview between 10-12 and 1-4. That's 15 slots of 20 min each in a day. That means only 75 max per week assuming no simultaneous interviews.

I see a logic game forming.

In one of the past cycles, someone kept track of how many interview slots opened every week since the beginning of JS1s. At this time in Mar they had only about 750 slots for JS1s.

So they may be conducting simulatenous intvws and the actual count of JS1s could be higher.

I think that's def what happened. I just checked out the calendar and they're are no more scheduled JS1. It looks like they're about finished

How long in advance do you guys think they know what day they are going to give out JS2s?

I can't imagine they decide on the day of, so they must know some time in advance. Especially now that all the applications are in, I imagine they should know at least a few days in advance of the actual JS2s. Why not just announce the day once they know?

Besides prolonging our suffering, that is.

I don't think they would appear until pretty near to when the JS1 invites went out. The lack of slots at this point doesn't mean anything.

That said, I agree; there probably aren't any more non-WL JS1's this cycle.

But then, the logic that's making me say that is the same logic that held that there HAD to be a JS2 wave this week. And I was wrong about that. Everything's late this cycle; there could be another JS1 wave.

I'll put that into context then. There won't be another JS1 wave before a jS2 wave. The next wave will be a JS2. Do you agree with this

You guys

I heard if we all tweet or post in the spivy thread and ask if we're in a countercycle a js2 wave will rain on us. Let's try it.

Each year, the former gets from the latter a list of emails of participants in HLS admission threads for the current and the past 4 years; the adcoms examine the list to see if any applicants are participating in the then-current TLS Harvard admission thread for the year. Those of us who are detected via this method are reserved until the very last wave. Hence the lack of report up to this date.

Of course, there is the matter of those who reported their JS2s before the rest of us. They were the ones who were (1) smart enough to use an email address unlisted in their applications, (2) create a new email account in order to protect their anonymity, or (3) create an account after they are admitted.

And the earth is hollow, by the way. This planet never belonged to us.

Can't tell if you are kidding or just that paranoid. This thread has diminished my capacity to have good judgement in that area

I'm kidding, of course. I was just trying to ease my tension by throwing some silly comments. I added the last paragraph (a reference to Kong: Skull Island) lest people take me seriously, but evidently I have failed. Then again, I'm not known for my sense of humor (as hellohalo correctly mentioned).

it's painful to think about how far you fall from being mature enough to go to law school

Thankfully you can fake being mature and still get into the top three law schools
