I work in Boston and we have a snow day tomorrow, so idk how hopeful I'd get about a JS2 wave......

If I remember correctly, when I registered there were slots available after about 3PM (I did 5:40 PM so I didn't have to leave work early) and either the day before or day after had slots basically all day.

I think people are referring to JS1 Invites/JS2s happening on the same day. However, it looks like there were some concurrent ding/JS1/JS2 waves last year. Got about another 30 minutes until we find out for sure if today is one of those days.

Well, it's already a concurrent ding/JS1 wave. Whether it's going for the triple crown remains to be seen (seems unlikely).

A JS2 wave is just phone calls, yeah? So theoretically (not that I know what the actual process is like, I don't, maybe it's really involved) you could just e-mail the spreadsheet with names and numbers to all your adcomms, have them make the calls from home.

Note: this post should not be construed as a suggestion that HLS adcomms should have to work on snow days. They should not. And they should have four day weekends. And they should all get raises.

I thought about this, but then I figured that this would probably require them to call from their personal phones. And I assume that Adcoms don't want students (even admitted ones) having their personal numbers. I guess they could block the number, but I assume there is some non-insignificant portion of people who just refuse to answer blocked calls.

Unfortunately it seems more likely to me that they would just delay until Friday.

Sadness and despair.

Well, they conducted interviews from home during the blizzard in Feb...why not JS2s from home tomorrow?

The argument would be that they can use the HLS Admissions Skype ID from home, but that they don't have access to the office phones, and therefore would have to use their own phones, and might not want to give out their personal numbers.

There are all sorts of ways around that, of course, but it does seem plausible to me that they would push back the JS2 wave until a day when they had access to the "right" phones.Who knows.

The way the tweet subtly adds #workingfromhome at the end makes it seem like a hint to me

You can block your phone number when calling people so I don't think being concerned about their personal numbers getting out would be a concern. Maybe concern about the cost it could require each staff member to endure for calling out of state/country admits.

My JS2 was from a blocked number. It showed up as "No Caller ID".

It seems like the big JS1 "waves" have all happened after 5 pm EST on days when my posts receive "+1" endorsements.

Dinged via email today @ 11:16AM.

No JS1. Complete 2/21/17.

Oddly enough, had a dream last night that I was dinged. LOL. Best of luck to everyone else! :)

Oh wow. That's a really late completion date. I'm thinking they must have at least cursory reviewed all applicants then.

Sorry about the ding though.
