At this point last year, only 4 out of 24 JS1 waves remained
Jesus
This time last year, Jeb Bush had just dropped out of the primary. A lot of unpredictable things can happen. Let's not extrapolate from incomplete data. Even with my optimistic analysis, I know how freaked out I would be if I read through this thread looking for information about JS1s. It's March, and I understand that our collective anxiety may soon reach fever pitch, but let's try to be a little bit considerate of whether our data contributions actually add something valuable to the available information.
Regardless, we're at a point in the cycle where there are likely few JS1s to be handed out. Exactly how many, nobody knows
Take your YLS acceptance and stop freaking out the locals ;)

I think this time last year there was about a week of JS1s left... i would assume most of the ones from here on out would be people with lower stats but something else interesting about them (pure speculation)

i think probably for those of us without something special about our app it's safe to say the chances are very slim

Your app sounded hella special last I heard. Low #s/good softs is the sweet spot for a march JS1. I believe.

I've heard HLS is much less black box (read: emphasis on softs) than Y & S. True or nah? Can softs really make the difference?
I sure hope they can

It's definitely true, but there's a lot of space between "less emphasis than Y/S" and "softs cannot make the difference."

Plenty of people who're below both 25ths get admitted every year; that would not be the case if softs could never matter.

Many of them probably are, I'd imagine (IDK about a majority, but I suppose it's possible). Still, if softs had no impact at all, you would be able to predict success based on URM status and numbers alone; we have more than enough evidence from LSN etc. to determine that we can't do that.
I probably fit that profile, but no JS1, so hard to say.

Vast majority imo instead of just majority. I suspect there is no non-urm js1 that has both numbers below 25 percentile?

While I know that this thread in itself doesn't necessarily constitute statistical significance, if we are to base any assessments off of it, the *vast* majority of sub 170 LSATs that get JS1s are URM. As of this point in the thread, only 1 non-URM has reported even getting an interview with <25th LSAT.

true imo. May be there is NO non-URM so far with both < 25% with JS1 ?

Conventional wisdom would indicate that is probably true. I'm hoping that I can sneak a JS1 with non-URM LSAT<25th, 75th<GPA

Lol she would have gotten a combo JS1/JS2 in mid-November.

I don't think TT has been accepted yet honestly
