It is not about highly unlikely any NU Law student gets a GPA low enough to lose their scholarship but some students based on the school's policy must have a C, D, and an F. The distribution of the curve from one law school to another is different though. Still some will have a C, others will have D, and an F.

C/0-7.5%, D & F/0-7%.

When the grades come out, that is when everyone start to realize what law school is all about. Students come in with confidence but once your law school exam grades are posted, and you look at your Fall semester GPA, you're like what went wrong.

The policy you posted allows for as few as 0 students to get a c, d or f, right?

No, 0 - 7.5% will have a C. 0 - 7% will have a D and an F. You won't know it until you try it.

You have a class of 40 students, that means 3 will have a C and 3 others will have a D and an F and you're left with 34 students who will get anywhere from an A+ to a C+. You're looking at max 9 students being in the A range and the rest fall in the B range with few getting a C+. Are you going to be one of the 9 students who would get few A in these classes? usually that is not the case. But it is possible.

I'm assuming no one is taking him seriously, but in case anyone is. NU Student here. The curve is forced from A+ to B-. Can a professor give out lower than a B- if they want to? Yes. Do they have to? No. I've seen some classes that there ARE C+'s but it's so stupidly rare. The lowest grade a professor HAS to give is a B-.

I've never asked to be taken seriously. However, you NU student didn't have to create an account today to drop a response in this topic. You have a much more important task atm, like studying for your finals.

djbatista wrote:I'm hopeful because of what Guyver said about a small group of admits. I don't know where he gets his info but it seems to be pretty accurate. Last time he said straight admissions offers were done, and then there was a final wave of rejections, holds, and waitlists. Is there anyone here who has still not gotten an initial decision?

If you didn't want to be taken seriously, why did you get (are are still) so defensive?

By your definition there is nothing defensive here, rather clarity. Believe what you want. Good luck.

Definitely defensive, and a pretty childish in your responses throughout this thread. Good luck to you too.

I just love seeing lots of activity in this thread while awaiting admission information and then finding out it's just a result of useless bickering.

I'm really glad I was sleeping when the trolling happened. I would've definitely taken the bait and replied. I'm excited about NU. Who else has it as their top choice?

I found it amusing that people entertained his stupid hypos, rather than just linking http://www.law.northwestern.edu/admissi ... Report.pdf which shows that NW does not offer conditional scholarships and that the school has had ZERO academic attrition for the last three years. So, it is virtually impossible to lose your scholarship at NU.

Did my online interview earlier. I emailed admissions to see if I could reschedule to do an off-campus last week but they said their supply of alumni exceeded the people who wanted an interview. bummer.

But the online platform was pretty straightforward, along the lines of what everyone else said. I found it whack that there wasn't even a timer on the page to let you know how much time you had left until it just cuts off your interview mid-sentence. Oh well.

You will make a great candidate for NU by name calling others. Keep up the good work.

Are they aware of the possibility that someone from NU admission might be reading these posts to identify unqualified candidates ? If they behave like this then how will they respond to their colleagues in the classroom when they participate regardless of their argument if it was flawed or not ? Name calling came with the word troll. Then we see everyone jumping on the bandwagon.

It will be amusing to see this year admits https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nMDVApYL78

Hey Guys, did my online interview and here some of the questions asked in addition to the ones already posted here.

1) What's your back up plan if you don't go to law school?
2) If your professor asks for help on a subject you don't know, what would you do?

Good luck!

I think NU Admissions would be happy that the rest of us can correctly read the policy stated on their website, and that we are defending them against misinformation spread on the internet. Maybe I am wrong though, if they deny me because I called someone a troll/misinformed they have a lot bigger problems.

Yay! Someone actually talking about the school. That first question is difficult, I do not know how I would have answered it. Probably discuss my current career.

I'm visiting Chicago for work, so it's hard for me to schedule a time to visit. I can only pop in when I'm lucky enough to get free time. Just not sure how receptive they are to not scheduling anything in advance as far as just speaking to people, picking up a few pamphlets, and touring the campus a bit.

Did this very thing in October. Walked in went to admissions office (which was hard to find lol) got a few pamphlets and walked around. Really cool place.

I think the days from the deadline might be more important than the day of the week. With only four days of sample size, only one has been before December 17th. Two days on the 17th. One after. I would love a 15th date too!!!!

Also looking at last year's spreadsheet, I think i have more of a chance than i originally thought. I kind of just ED'd because it was my first choice without expectations to get in because of the big scholly.
