it felt miserable. basically it was serving post-apolayptic hospital meets Azkaban Dementors. no shade to anyone for whom that sort of thing works but I just couldn't do it. I already suffer from anxiety/depression & need happy people around me, even if they're only superficially happy anxious and depressed people.

there's also so much going on around Northwestern. At Chicago I was like.... insomnia cookies? Love Insomnia but again, not enough for me (city lover).

OMG! This is making me excited.

S/n...now that NYU is curving us more or less...have you decided what it's down between?

I loved it, really. Great vibe, great people, and beautiful campus on the lake. Perfect combination of old and new.
Right now I think this is the place for me.

Conversely, I just left UChicago. And

So excited to visit next week for ASW!

Vibe that bad?

I've spent a lot of time on U of C's campus. It's not a "bad" vibe per say. It's just only a vibe that works for a particular set of people. To me, when I'm down there to visit friends (monthly occurrence) it just feels dead and tense. Campus is gorgeous, don't get me wrong, and I'm sure people get out and have fun (I've seen a few of them myself), but it feels much more like a newly discovered archeological site of a long-dead civilization than it does an active university. Though, that's probably what happens when your school prides itself on its intellectual "rigor" and "curiosity" and has no noticeable school spirit beyond the unity that comes from being emotionally and mentally depressed by masochistically picking a university that crushes you with endless coursework. The law school's location on campus is also less than desirable. However beautiful the building may be, it doesn't really make up for the fact that it's on the edge of campus and has an ugly surrounding.

Those are just my $0.02. My friends on the other hand were really into their seemingly endless coursework and loved to bond by one-upping each other regarding how "miserable" they were. That just didn't really mesh well with me. I'm sure the law school is somewhat different, but let's not pretend that law school is known to be a less than rigorous environment.

I'd sell my now tattered soul (thanks NU and NYU) for Hamilton tickets, so I get that. But dang, man, you got more important things to do than attend the boss' online chat! There aren't any points given for making the boss feel good about his ratings. This isn't the Trump White House!

That's what I was thinking. I see the live chat Qs and As. I thought they meant live "chat" as in questions by prospectives via chat and answers by Dean Rodriquez via voice.
