Because if they withdrew, then they expected not to receive any decision.

but problem implies something more than not expected result, right? Where is the problem? If they withdrew because they were bound under an ED contract, then as long as they have the e-mail to the school withdrawing, they've done nothing wrong. I can't think of any other 'problems', which is why I asked what the problem is. (still curious mm!)

So, regarding this scholarship application, what exactly do they mean when they say to assess my position for merit aid BEYOND my LSAT and GPA? Is this where I'm supposed to be like, "I'm a hard worker who is super dedicated to achieving greatness in my law school career and thereafter" lol

That's essentially how I'm interpreting the prompt. Also writing about how I would add a unique perspective to the NU community, etc.

It's a very strange question to me but I'm gonna ponder it for a day or two and then come back to it.

So somehow I was never subscribed to this thread, but that has changed because I just got in!

I'm sorry if this has been asked and answered, but is there any insight on the aid process? I don't see anything in my letter.

Ive seen this answered a few times. There's info on the admitted students page. There's a few short essay type prompts.

If you want to be considered for grants, schollies, and federal aid, you submit the FAFSA, CSS form (ick), and a scholarship/grant application form that basically asks you why they should give you money (their scholly is a combo of merit- and need-based) as well as how attending NU can help you with your short- and long-term goals (I'm assuming that's to gauge how likely you are to actually attend or something).

Is there an option to be considered only for merit-based scholarships without submitting FAFSA/CSS/tax forms?

Yes, I believe so. There are instructions on each of the different combos (all three, a combo of two, just one). It's on the admitted students portal (linked in the admissions letter). I believe it's under fin aid.

OMG same. I emailed multiple people about withdrawing my app, so I'm kind of confused, but also pleasantly surprised?
