I'm at H right now and I can confirm that housing is a big pain-- you'll be lucky to get a room for $1000 nearby, and if you want to live alone, you'd be lucky to find a studio for less than $2000. Crazy stuff! And there's no way I would live with other people during 1L. Studio or 1-bedroom for sure -- can't afford the needless distractions of other people. I'm honestly surprised that ANY 1Ls at top schools share apartments. My friends at Y on the other hand are living the life! Of course, housing shouldn't be a massive factor in your decision but it is actually a pretty big stress factor to have to fork out a ton of money every month, especially when you can't work during the school year and have a billion dollars in tuition.
