Mmmmh. No. You can email, but it won't speed up the process itself, just how fast they email you once they know. They don't like receiving emails though. Furthermore, Asha is very adamant on the fact that you shouldn't be forced by anyone to be making any decisions before April 1st anyway. So email if you want, but it won't get much done, and might work against you (just a little).

Disagree. An email cannot work against you and *can* help in getting a quicker financial aid notification. I would 100% email them if you are an admitted yale student, have a competing scholarship offer, and would like to hear back from Yale re financial aid ASAP.

From the second link: "If you are facing a looming financial aid or scholarship deadline (and schools ethically shouldn't be giving you these before April 1), you can email us at admissions.law@yale.edu with your name, LSAC number, the scholarship, and the deadline, and we will make a note of it. While we cannot expedite a review of your application, we can make sure you receive a notification as fast as possible once a decision is made, or at least give you a time frame in which you can expect a decision, so that you can ask for an extension of the deadline, if possible."

Dinan15 and Gabriel_is_Satan were talking about admissions, not financial aid, though. And as to your quote, it supports Gabriel's principal point that it won't speed up the process, only how fast they e-mail you.

You're right, misread that

So, who wants to take pity on me and make a YLS Class of 2020 thread?

I'd do it, but I have no clue how to insert images to TLS posts... because I'm not one of the cool kids on TLS... which is why I shouldn't make this post...

check out the OP of this thread.........no image to be found!! Your c/o 2020 thread doesn't have to be fancy. doesn't really have to say anything at all in the OP.

you got into Yale, you can make a thread!!!!!! I believe in you !!!!!!! :D

Awww thanks for the love, team. You may always bump to voice your support of me and all that I do <3

Still haven't gotten my eyes unstuck from the top of my skull when there was a lengthy discussion about Stanford's moleskines and whether their acceptance packages are sent by USPS or UPS. Then again maybe if people keep saying stuff like that my eyes will roll so hard that they'll actually be in the right place again

Yep. If you're already admitted, I don't care for your problems . I think you can indeed email all you want, probably to some secret admits email address we common mortals don't even know about.

But if you're still in limbo, I stand by what I initially wrote. But I don't think it will matter much, and I'm just one guy anyway.

I don't want to spend my life thinking "what if"...although I'm sure I will probably still think "what if I had applied sooner and written a better 250?" :P

Your profile suggests you have more than a hail Mary's chance. Would have been crazy not to try, at least.

Yale claims timing shouldn't impact your likelihood of acceptance, so there's that. Re. the 250, well, I spent ages on that one. It's never perfect.

3.6/173
Stem dual degree from top public
Pending retake (hopefully 175+ but who knows)
2 decent academic recommendations
2 years work experience in public interest

In at CLS less than a month after submit

Should i throw a YLS app together? Worth it?

I'm of the mindset that if your chance is better than nil, you should go for it. Yes, your GPA is on the lower end, but it's been done before. Do it!

Sure. Nothing to lose, and your stats don't rule you out, so not good reason not to.

CONGRATS!!!

Yale doesn't do all at once, right, it's over the course of the night? Either way, let the odds be in TLS's favor :D

Hey guys! Checking in for first time on this thread! Got into H last week. So figured I'll give this a shot even though I wasn't planning on. Threw the Hail Mary a few hours ago!

Also just threw an app in. Even though my chance basically is zero....they really know how to get hopes up by publishing their lower bound stats. :P

Extended to when? So I could've continued to stare blankly and unsatisfied at my 250 for a bit longer?
