Is it necessary to email before visiting the school?

Nope! You can sign up for a tour online and that serves as notification enough. If there are no tours, you could always talk about having visited in your LOCI as a way of making that visit official. Naming the students whom you met/toured campus with would also help.

Thanks! As a waitlist candidate, anything else you think I can do to make the most of my visit? Can I speak to someone in admissions or would that come off as annoying?

I just checked, and there aren't any spring semester official tours left, and summer tours won't be posted until June. You can walk in anytime to do a self-guided tour and check in with the admissions office. You can call and see if there's anyone available in the admissions office who you could talk to. But if that doesn't work, I think taking the initiative to visit would be enough.

I'm waitlisted as well! So, I did request to meet with someone during a visit and my request was denied; waitlisted candidates are not eligible for that sort of non-evaluative interview until the start of May, when they can make such requests via email (it is my understanding that not all requests in this regard are honored). If you're visiting during an information session, I know that Dean Post is open to meeting a few people informally, 1 on 1, just outside of the room where the info session takes place.

As far as meeting someone I say wait until the beginning of May. But the visit will pay dividends in the form of an LOCI.

Thanks, unfortunately no more info sessions/tours being offered until the summer. So I'm going solo :)

I thought it was due 2/20... unless you were admitted recently and they gave you a new deadline? Mine uploaded smoothly but it was uploaded on maybe 2/16.
yeah, I was admitted recently and the deadline was yesterday :) 15 days late would definitely explain any issue I had though! haha

Can't swing ASW but will be going there for an individual visit the following week. Excited to learn more about Penn because I feel like I know nothing!

Still UR1 2/7.... [LSAT > 75th, GPA unreported] Maybe means some movement is happening soon??
