For those who are interested, I connected with two guys who were accepted ED last cycle on reddit - their stats were 169/3.74 and 173/3.71.

Welcome :) same here for ED

Good to know, thanks!!! I'm above the 75th for GPA and I just took the LSAT today so I'm gonna have to wait for that...but it's awesome to have an idea of the range.

How's everyone's apps coming along? I'm just waiting for my Sept score and then hopefully, based on that result, applying ED

I'm waiting for my score as well, and I can't decide whether to apply ED or not. Anyone have any idea if there is a chance of getting a decent scholarship without applying ED? I need money but binding ED scares me.

Looking through last years applicant thread there was several people who got 20,000/25,000.

I can't remember where I read it but I'm also pretty sure you get the most scholarship bargaining power if you also apply to BC. Which makes sense since it's the biggest competitor

Has BU sent out fee waivers? Or has anyone successfully solicited one recently?
(Same question for BC)

Haven't tried yet- waiting for my Sept. score but on lsn people with comparable stats to what I think I got got one 50% of the time. So I'm sure it's possible.

I tried but got a generic email saying to look here: http://www.bu.edu/law/admissions/jd-adm ... ee-waiver/

Guessing I won't get one. I'm >75 LSAT and <25 GPA.

Visited the campus today and just did a little self guided tour.

Even on a crappy rainy day, not a bad view from the 13th floor

It does. But! I've chosen to ignore reality and to instead pretend that I got an amazing sept score and this just means that the school I'm going to will have better numbers and possibly be higher ranked going forward.

That's what I'm thinking - Kinda expected with their rise in employment rankings etc. recently so hopefully we're just getting in on the front side of a long rise!

I'm not from the Boston area, so, out of curiosity, what made you guys decide BU over BC if you did? Or did everyone apply to both? Is there a meaningful difference between the two?

I'm applying to both...BU is my choice between the two mostly because of the full ride ED option and the higher ranking

The differences seem small...both will place you well in the Boston area but little outside of that. From what I've read on here, if you want to go to NY you'll have a better chance from BU. I've heard several people say that BC is more "fratty" but I am not sure about that first hand. BU is in the city more so than BC which is a little more on the outskirts (still in a city type area but probably a little more quiet). I visited the BU buildings last weekend and they're brand new/really nice. Visiting BC tomorrow so not sure about that yet.

Anecdotally, as someone who has lived in Massachusetts their whole life, I've always regarded BU as a better school in general...no solid reason for that, just how I have felt.

How did you like the BC visit? I've been to both and liked the quiet of the BC campus. I didn't get an indication that BC was fratty when I went. I'm looking at both schools. PM me if you want to talk specifics or stats for BU/BC.

I am also someone who has lived in MA and always regarded BC as better for undergrad but BU as better for law school based on rankings, etc. I also worked in a law firm in the area and met several law students from both BU and BC. BU students really loved their school, while BC students seemed to say that it felt like they were back in high school and it was very small. For me that was a big turn off but it may not matter to some people, just thought I would share!

Honestly, I was a little disappointed in the law school campus. im stupid and didn't Donny homework so I wasn't aware it was away from the main campus/city. The facility seemed nice and everything but the location/size threw me off a bit. I went to UG on a small state school campus and I am definitely hoping to do law school more in the city. It's not a complete deterrent of course but definitely something that could be a tie breaker

I then visited the main BC campus which basically added insult to injury because of how beautiful it was haha. I get how the main campus could come across as fratty but I did not get that impression from the law school at all which was good.

That was exactly the feeling I got at BC. I can honestly say I wanted to go there more before visiting.

So with my LSAT I don't think I'll be competitve too much for the ED scholly - gonna throw it in for the chance and to show higher interest but not gonna bank on it or anything. 167 is still above the 75th by a couple so not a bad place to be, I think it's my slightly below median GPA which will take me out of the running. Excited to get everything completed though!
