Have they issued admissions for regular decision applicants yet? I thought they've only decided on ED and deferred applicants.mudiverse wrote:Complete since late October. BU sure does take their sweet time.

Did your status checker change today? Just wondering because I applied around that time as well and mine still says "Complete".mm2368 wrote:First or second week of November. no change to my status checker, and as for stats, GPA above 75th and LSAT... yeah, not above 75th, lol. (~25th)

My admission packet said the end of January. Others said February.mm2368 wrote:Qu'est-ce que the deal with scholarship? Not that I'm expecting a dime with that LSAT, lol, but it's worth asking!

I'm very curious about the "BU-Bound" early decision option and why it automatically precludes you from scholarship consideration. Is this a sly way for students who may have low numbers but can pay sticker price to be able to show that they can pay? Does anyone have any information or opinion about this?

There isn't information in regards to BU bound specifically because this is the first year it's been offered. However, for similar binding ED options it's debated what benefit it has. Some people will say that they accept people with lower stats, some say they won't. The only guaranteed benefit is that you are notified of the decision really early in the cycle.CB19 wrote:I'm very curious about the "BU-Bound" early decision option and why it automatically precludes you from scholarship consideration. I don't think showing you can pay it matters...there's really no guarantee you can pay anything until your loan information comes through and you see how much is out of pocket.

I'm in the same boat with roughly the same LSAT score. Although I went complete 11/04, still haven't heard anything. It's making me nervous.fazzvm56 wrote:Applied ~10/18, radio silence

I wouldn't be too worried, I have above 75th on both the LSAT and GPA and still haven't heard anything. They just finished ED and just got back from holidayslcsslily wrote:I'm in the same boat with roughly the same LSAT score. Although I went complete 11/04, still haven't heard anything. Yeah, I don't think anyone should worry especially because it doesn't seem they're going in any particular order. That I got in yesterday and Mackgal still hasn't heard with a much higher LSAT and equal GPA should soothe you

Re: Boston University C/O 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
If your numbers would get you scholarship money, applying BU bound probably won't keep you from getting any, but the fact that you're 'exclusive' to BU creates a lack of competition for you as a student will likely mean you could likely get less than your perceived market value would otherwise.CB19 wrote:I'm very curious about the "BU-Bound" early decision option and why it automatically precludes you from scholarship consideration. Like Ashrice said, we won't know until we get some datapoints from current BU-bound applicants, but for most ED programs since there's no obligation for them to give a scholarship and a student that is obligated to take whatever they offer, there's a formula that results in less money for the student. I'd predict BU-Bound is more for students who fear they wouldn't get in and wouldn't get money anyway, but we'll see if it results in any real boost.

Does a nine month gap on the resume between graduating UG and getting first full time job warrant an addendum?

Re: Boston University C/O 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Do you mean first full-time professional job or first full-time job period? Regardless, I feel like a lot of people spend a period of that length either studying for the LSAT or traveling. Wouldn't bother.Augy1 wrote:Does a nine month gap on the resume between graduating UG and getting first full time job warrant an addendum?
