I submitted on 11/11/2016. Current status has been complete ("your file has been submitted for review") since 11/16/2016. It's been nearly three months and I've heard nothing. What could be going on? How abnormal is this? I'm nontrad 25/25. It'd be nice to know one way or another at this point.

FWIW

Last year's waves, from this point forward (via LSN):

-- ACCEPTANCES --

FEB (22 acceptances reported) --> Feb 2, 17, 22 (others scattered throughout month)

MARCH (7 reported) --> late March dates

APRIL (7 reported)

-- WAITLISTS --

APRIL - mid to late

MAY - early

-- REJECTIONS --

FEB 15-17, tons throughout March/April/early May

I've been complete and submitted for review since September with no movement. They're just slow, and the closer you are to borderline the longer it'll likely take. Not expecting to hear until March/April to be honest.

The crazy part about those numbers, at least to me, is that Stanford offered 409 people admission. You'd think with reported numbers like that, they had offered only 100.

No kidding. Though most applicants don't disclose information about themselves on TLS or LSN, so who knows what to make of those numbers...

Stanford why do you have to make this process even more stressful... Is it really necessary to announce a DLS to make me wait for a decision in the mail... Especially when I know I am not in... hoping for a WL :(

looks like 158 total have been invited (76) / have already joined (82) the SLS fb group. So I'm assuming ~37% (158/430) of offers have been handed out

Past users have called the admissions office and they were able to give them their decision over the phone, without having to wait for the physical letter to arrive. The choice is yours :|

They invite people via email, so I think that even if they don't have a FB, they still get the invite (and are thus included in the 158)

I had a similar situation and submission date last year and i heard literally the last day of the entire cycle (i think april 28?) if this is your first round a lot of the top schools keep the yous and me in the mix forever, with the exception of maybe berkeley. i would personally prep yourself for the waitlist train

Hello hive-mind. Asking around for advice:

I have been under review since the middle of November, and going by Faye Deal's blog it's now fair game to send something to the admissions office. I was wondering which of these two sounds like the better option:

- an LoR: I have sent three already and they are supposedly very good. (My Columbia interviewer said so.) I could get a good fourth one from the head of my department from undergrad.

- an LoCI: My PS didn't delve into why Stanford Law in particular holds many opportunities for me. I could write an LoCI elaborating on that.

What do you guys think?

I personally would go with a LOCI. I think you can't go wrong with either though.

For people on the east coast: How long did it take to receive the admission packet via mail? It's been more than a week since I got the call, so just wondering how long the average wait is

would anyone be willing to look over my LOCI? I haven't received a decision yet but I plan on sending one as I went complete the first few days of november. Its a roughish draft, maybe I'll change it around a little.
