New theory for all of us who expected to hear some news by now, but haven't heard anything yet. Are you all KJD's? I wonder if when we submitted our Fall grades, we got pushed back to the bottom of the pile to be reviewed again.

I'm above both 75ths, submitted in September, and had what I thought was a great interview in November. Someone say something comforting.

Above the 75th for GPA. Between 25-50 for LSAT. Also submitted a why columbia and no interview :/

edit: 2 years out of school, so not K-JD

Still no word here either. LSAT>75th GPA<<25th, so not a shoo-in by any means, but interviewed in November and was expecting reserve. Also not KJD.

Are interviews mostly just for high-LSAT applicants? I ask because from what I've seen here and on LSN (even among those who have already been accepted), interviews seem to be going almost only to high-LSAT applicants even if there GPA is low. Most of the 3.9x 169/170/171 scorers, even those who were accepted, did not interview, whereas those with 172+ LSATs seem to interview a lot more frequently.

How long do interviews last? I have mine very soon. Really nervous about it.

They probably have higher yields with lower lsat people, but are more worried about 172+ers getting poached by HYS.

Wow, I should probably know this but - we have to submit fall grades? Do we just send in an additional transcript to LSAC?

Edit: from what I'm seeing from forum searches, some people are just sending it in when requested from the school

I'm working and if I get accepted, I'll have worked for 2 years, so definitely not a KJD.

Not a KJD. Applied mid-November and have heard nothing. GPA > 75, LSAT between 25 and 50. Try to resist urge to ask admissions whats up.

I am KJD but I got the interview request after I had submitted my fall grades through LSAC, so I'm thinking that's not the case. LSAT=50, 25<GPA<50

Looks like we're all kind of in the middle 50% so they're probably still just deciding on us.

I'm at/above both 75ths but I did just recently interview. Was hoping to get lumped in with the next positive wave but from this thread now it seems like I have a lot more waiting ahead of me

yeah, I was talking about people who had submitted very early on who are still waiting. Based on your stats, you might not have as long a wait.

Sorry but how is that a reason for Columbia to more vigorously interview them? If they're worried about 172+ers getting poached by HYS, wouldn't it make more sense to concentrate on lower numbers?

I mean you interview people as a way to figure out if they really want to go to Columbia? That would be my guess as to why they interview 172+ scorers more

This.

I also think it goes the other way as well to some extent. As in, they're trying to figure out if the applicant really wants to go to Columbia, but also using the interview as a tool to establish a personal connection, talk about what the school can offer, answer questions. I didn't interview at CLS but my UVA interview honestly felt less like an evaluation of candidacy and more an advertisement for the school, lol.
