Congrats! You're the first I've seen to get scholly months after the interview--could this mean they've started merit considerations?! (She wonders self-servingly, having been accepted in October.) But seriously, congratulations!

Interview today! This is actually my first interview for law school so I'm kinda nervous but everything I've seen regarding the UVA interviews points to this being pretty relaxed

Mine was, but be ready to answer the standard questions:
-why law
-why uva
-what do you want to do with a jd
-what are you doing now

Out of curiosity have you checked the UVA SIS site, and does your award appear there?

Also wondering

Forgive my ignorance, but what is the UVA SIS site? Have we been given instructions on how to access it?

Did anyone else's reccomenders get an email thanking them? Is that a sign of anything?

My (admittedly overly suspicious) guess is that its a subtle way to make sure the recommendations are legit. Especially with dossier services like Interfolio, it isn't terribly difficult to fake a letter, and I've heard of it being done before.

Wow I've never heard of this! Have there been cases of people forging letters?

Did you schedule an interview? Or did they randomly call?

I haven't heard of it being done for law school applications, but I have heard of people faking letters of recommendation for medical school and grad school.

The SIS is the Student Information System. I received an email last week from financial aid with my username to login. They might be doing it in waves so you might not have gotten your info yet.

I got an email asking to "discuss my application" and then we set up an interview time. They ask to do it on skype but my mic on my computer doesn't work so we did it over the phone

PS: Cash, you got into Duke already so shut it over there

I don't know how that would stop people though. I would assume the forging student would have access to the email that is on the note (since they wrote it and uploaded it). How would that change anything?

Typically, a letter on letterhead would have to include the recommender's institutional email address, which is arguably a lot harder to fake. If you put a gmail account down or something, that tends to be a red flag to anyone reading the letter. I would imagine some students would still put down the institutional address in the hopes that no one contacts the recommender.
