Just interviewed with Dean Faulk. Really fun and relaxed interview. Got accepted at the end of it, and also offered $150,000 in scholarship money. Considering the fact that I assumed I was going to get waitlisted until last week (because I was UR1 for over 2 months), that's a pretty incredible turn of events.

Re: UVA c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
After being admitted yesterday, got an email today asking me to submit my form for in-state tuition ASAP. Didn't realize it was a big deal because it says on the form that it just needs to be submitted by the first day of the semester. Has this happened to anybody else? Anybody know if it's tied to financial aid/delays a scholarship offer?

Yeah at the end of the interview he told me about the acceptance. We laughed and spoke for like another minute and then he dropped the scholarship on me.Keilz wrote:Wow, congrats. First, congrats on the awesome offer! (we have very similar stats, so it's gotten my hopes up)ReadyToStart wrote:Yeah at the end of the interview he told me about the acceptance. Second, somewhat jealous you got to avoid the awkward elevator pitch-esque request at the end of the interview since Dean Faulk just admits people rather than sending the results to the admissions committee. I felt so awkward trying to tell Chris what I wanted him to pass on to the committee about why they should admit me

LOL same here, I even awkwardly asked him to clarify what he meant because it was so unexpected...mrgstephe wrote:First, congrats on the awesome offer! I didn't see that question coming, so I just defaulted to "No, nothing I want to say." Which would have been fine, but he was like "Are you REALLY sure?" And at that point I was already committed so I had to come up with something political like "I'm sure. You know the committee better than me so I think you could do a better job at convincing them"20172017 wrote:LOL same here, I even awkwardly asked him to clarify what he meant because it was so unexpected...mrgstephe wrote:First, congrats on the awesome offer! That's a pretty dope way to end an interview.SweetTort wrote:"Do I have anything else to say?CenterFringe wrote:I didn't see that question coming, so I just defaulted to "No, nothing I want to say." Just got an email from fin aid office about submitting FAFSA along with a SIS ID and computing ID. Did any of you receive this before getting your scholarship offers, or am I SOL?

UR2 since 2/2, heavy splitter (3.4/171) and no interview yet. Should I submit a LOCI/Why UVA? I sent an extra school specific rec to show interest, think I ought to do more? UVA is definitely my top choice at this point
