Interview was kinda rough. Lots of curveballs, little emotion. Questions you wouldn't normally see in job interviews like "if you could meet anyone in history who would it be?" and stuff like that. Be ready for more of those kind of first date ice breakers than you would think as well as the typical "Why law? Why Chicago? Why your undergraduate school?" etc type questions.

I don't know if this is a good reason, but I really want at least a teeny tiny shot at legal academia and I feel Chicago's probably my best bet. I was going to write about my love for academia and seeking a rigorous, theory-based legal education ("learning for learning's sake")

Without being an admissions person and just sort of knowing the culture of the school, I think this is a good reason. Although be sure to distinguish Chicago from H and Y. You've distinguished the theory-heavy schools that are known for pushing someone into the academy, but now distinguish Chicago to the extent you can.

To be fair I was asked this at an OCI callback interview this summer.

That "Who would you want to meet if you could meet anyone in history?" question is an oddly common question (not necessarily regarding their interviews, just generally speaking).

Just quickly looked through the spreadsheet from last year, and it looks like the first RD decisions didn't come out until a big wave on 1/13.

How many interview waves have there been? Just the one on Nov 1-7?

+1 on this question, though seems right based on this thread. Last year the interview requests seemed to be about a month between first/second, but they also started in mid-Oct. So I'm not going to even try to guess.

I've been UR since 9/27 and my date just changed to today as well, but I didn't get an interview.

Probably just means they made up their mind to reject me

Chicago please love me back. Waiting for an interview I applied ED the day apps opened but I guess it is as if I applied Oct. 20, cause thats when my second LSAT score came out and was sent to them. The wait is killing me.
