you must interview and it depends. they go deep into summer if necessary.kbzon wrote:Does UChicago only accept after you interview or do they ever offer a spot without an interview?
When do they start getting back to waitlisted students?

I think they say that an interview isn't necessarily required for admission, but in practice everyone who is admitted gets interviewed.kbzon wrote:Does UChicago only accept after you interview or do they ever offer a spot without an interview?

As for waitlist...I'll be curious to hear what the deposit deadline for the wave that sounds like is about to happen. Us waitlisted folk can then probably extrapolate roughly from there.

So I wrote a one-page Why Chicago with my initial application. Trying to decide if I should expand upon it in a two page why Chicago or just send a LOCI. Anyone have a similar dilemma?

Are people sending LOCIs in addition to the ones that were due in March?

I've seen some TLS spreadsheets from previous years that show people admitted without interviews - don't know if it's because they didn't fill in the info, or if a percentage do get in without interviews.xandra_v wrote:I think they say that an interview isn't necessarily required for admission, but in practice everyone who is admitted gets interviewed.kbzon wrote:Does UChicago only accept after you interview or do they ever offer a spot without an interview?

Is there anyway of knowing when they will start taking people from the waitlist?

Hi me. At this point IDGAF except money-wise and even then not really, but I paid the CAS fee so I at least want a goddamn answer.

Re: Chicago C/O 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Here I am, on May 9th, also without an initial decision from U of C. I interviewed the week of April 17th. I wonder how many of us there are that are still in this position. Obviously we've all deposited at other schools; I'm very frustrated with the radio silence from Chicago right now, especially considering they're the only school I haven't heard from as of yet. GPA = 75; 25 < LSAT < 50.MrJD2020 wrote:jazzybean wrote:I'm not sure, but there are still several people waiting on initial decisions.kbzon wrote:Is there anyway of knowing when they will start taking people from the waitlist?

Honestly, it's smart of Chicago to just not get back to some people and wait for them to withdraw. Good way to yield protect...

Solid reasoning for withdrawing. I deposited at NYU and will be waiting it out, here's hoping they'll get around to my app eventuallyMrJD2020 wrote:Honestly, it's smart of Chicago to just not get back to some people and wait for them to withdraw. Good way to yield protect...

100% same. Anyone get why they still haven't gotten back to us? Just reject me already so I have closure.MrJD2020 wrote:jazzybean wrote:I'm not sure, but there are still several people waiting on initial decisions.kbzon wrote:Is there anyway of knowing when they will start taking people from the waitlist?

can always WL them and do the same thing. might get more rejects that way as some people wait for a decision solely for "closure".redrobin wrote:Solid reasoning for withdrawing. i honestly think they're still building the class and are happy with what they have. as people don't go or withdraw from the WL, they will adjust accordingly.
