Some DLS 4/24 ppl got admitted today so there's still a chance!

I, on the other hand, have DLS 4/25. Lots of ppl seem to be reporting that. Either the beginning of a waitlist wave or ding.

This is too stressful

There's so much movement on this thread. I feel vindicated hitting refresh constantly. Unlike my Status Checker, which has been a still life since yesterday.

Does NYU let you know your DLS result if you call in?

Still no change in UR status since 12/9. Still nothing today. Does anyone think it would be a good idea to submit a letter of continued interest at this point? I just want some sort of answer from them so that I can have a bit of peace of mind

This is honestly ridiculous

I considered sending a LOCI back in February when I got the "still reviewing" email, but then I decided to save my content for the inevitable WL (though at this point it's looking like a ding.)

I would definitely wait to hear if you're waitlisted or rejected first. If you're waitlisted, you'll want to save that LOCI until after when they're reviewing the whole pile. They definitely wont be reading LOCIs this week though so it wont change their decision I'm pretty sure.

I recently sent one. I'm at a point where I feel like I have nothing to lose.

I sent a Why NYU a few weeks back. I hadn't sent one originally and figured I would kick myself if I didn't give it all I had.

Before I think they've gone into the afternoon.

Any DLS/UR 4/25 people wanna share stats? Let's speculate wildly :D

Question for you guys.. contemplating applying early decision to NYU. Did any of you consider that? If so, assuming $ was not an issue-what reason did you not?

Similar here. Per mylsn, everyone with my numbers has been straight accepted (not even a single waitlist) over the past 5-6 cycles. I applied late, but it was still by the deadline...

So either they are still on track to accept more folks, or I'm gonna be a trend setter. Either way, I feel special.

Thought I would regret it if I got into Columbia. In hindsight... lol

Options were really important for me. I love NYU but I also wanted to see if I could get into CLS (ended up being waitlisted) and seeing what my other results were. At this point, I'm kinda wishing I applied ED to NYU but I always would have wondered what my other options would have been. I would say definitely apply ED to NYU if you're applying for one of the specific scholarships like Furman etc and you 100% KNOW NYU is the place for you without any doubt. Good luck!

I'm starting to think that ppl like me who went DLS today are gonna be dinged. Too small for a waitlist wave I believe.

Do you believe them when they say:

Is it easier to get in with early decision?
In short: no. The criteria NYU uses to evaluate candidates — GPA, test scores, etc. — is the same.

I would imagine yield is still important . . and that an ED application might suggest they don't need to offer much aid . . leaving more for others.

Long term lurker - my UR also changed directly to DLS 4/25 and the last update was 2/24, with no phone calls yet. So I have a feeling it's either WL or rejection... :|

Do they normally send out a rejection wave before even the first WL wave? Seems odd.
