Anyone else in a situation similar to this? I'm also in-state.

UR2 11/29, no movement since.

UR2 11/28. Really hoping the delay doesn't mean an inevitable April waitlist

Same here. Did you apply very early?

Applied 10/2. Splitter. Really thought I would get in but starting to have doubts. MyLSN puts my chances at 77%, and it's a low scoring year...

(That being said, MyLSN also put my Cornell chances at 60%, and I got rejected there lol. And it also put my chances at Penn at 17%, Berkeley at 31%, and Michigan at 40%, and I've been accepted to all 3, so I'm starting to question MyLSN's value for my cycle)

I still don't know how to use MyLSN to calculate these things; can anyone give me a rundown quick either here or via PM? Sorry to sound so ignorant

Not at all. Use the Search feature under Pre-Law - Admissions. Set it to auto if you don't want to mess with the cycles (or, just select the cycles you want to pull data from). Then all you have to do is put in your LSAT and GPA and it'll populate your percentages for the top ranked schools.

I believe I have seen on here in the past that they do not. And, there was no mention of stipends in acceptance package.

I'm planning on applying next cycle (was thinking about this year) and I have the same LSAT and GPA as you. NYU is my dream school so I need you to get in :)

just to share i was looking at LSN for last cycle and NYU didn''t offer waitlist until like april. They started rejections Feb. 1st. However, it seems like TONS more people were accepted at that point than this year. It wasn't too uncommon for slightly earlier applicants to be admitted in the Jan-April time frame.

Having applied for public interest scholarships, I REALLY hope that we don't have to wait until April for a decision, as I was told that to be eligible for RTK you have to be admitted by early March just because of their process and timeline.

Sooo... sending good vibes to NYU for Tuesday the 17th!!

I am in touch with several current Roots, and I can tell you that if you're in late February-early March and still have not been admitted, RTK is out of the question for you.

yeah, I would assume this would be the case. also because I would think if the general admissions committee is taking that long to decide whether or not to admit you, you're not a strong enough candidate for root.

all that aside, I hope you don't face that dilemma and get admitted soon! :D

A lot of people are going UR2 now and I'm wondering how that'll translate into the next wave.

Current 3L RTK here. It's less of a merit thing than a timing thing. First reads usually begin late this month, early Feb (based on last years). Interview offers need to go out sufficiently in advance of Interview ASW to let far flung candidates confirm, book (NYU only covers upto $500 of travel, and as you can imagine it's hard to find flights 3 weeks out that are that cheap). Then there's hotel logistics, etc etc. If it's first week of March and you haven't even been admitted, it's a one-in-a-million shot that you get admitted, your file makes it to us, and it's that incredibly awesome that we hustle to get you here for an interview 2 weeks later. So yes, a teeny bit about merit, but mainly about our timing to extend offers and build the group.

Just saw the MS9 tw saying that the Dec test takers were up 9.7%. I guess I'm confused by the cycle data posted earlier...

Lots of retakes would explain it.

Two different data sets. Dec takers are up, apps are down.

But in the same tweet: but repeat test-takers ever so slightly down from 2015.
