I never really had a "hoe phase" (lol love that term ), though, and do not feel like I missed out. Guess I'm just a traditionalist Midwestern-er! :P

Weddings are tons of fun, though. Ours was the BEST (even though I'm sure it would have been more fun as a guest hahaha). We had open bar all night (my parents were feeling very generous I guess) and one of my friends got so drunk that he passed out in the elevator. Luckily my maid of honor found out and saved him (she was so pissed though--props to her because I never knew about it until the next day!). And then one of our other friends accidentally threw a girl across the dance floor, she slipped on some beer (which he had spilled) and she WIPED out. Good times.

I wasn't invited to the weddings of two of who I thought were really close friends last summer, but I still invited them to my wedding  They didn't come, though, and had suuuper lame excuses as to why. Oh well!

Sounds fun!

We are kind of having two weddings. One real wedding in New York with about 120 people (closest friends and direct family), then my parents are throwing us a party in Chicago (that is really more of their party in honor of us) for their friends and our extended family. I have a huge family and my parents have a huge friend group so they couldn't invite all of them. I don't mind though, gonna be a fun time and I am glad we are getting those extra registry items  .

that's cool that your parents have a huge friend group. I want that when I'm a parent. I feel like a lot of parents completely give up their lives and personal relationships for their children.

I should obviously take Emory at $120k COA right?

Over a TTTT at $70k COA?

I also feel like on the East Coast college grads/professionals tend not to get married until they're like 30 though.

Yeah I think the age of "settling down" varies by region.

More specifically by metropolitan areas. Most of the East Coast isn't saturated by professionals and millennials.

Yeah, fair. I should have said East Coast metro areas.

My SO and I were going to elope if I chose one of the law schools where family housing is the only affordable option.

Maybe I'll just rent out a bar an Applebee's for a reception.
My parents eloped but had a party on each coast. I wonder what their gift situation was.

Woah, woah, dry wedding?! If you expect me to pay money to travel to a wedding/get you a gift I at least expect to get some beers.

yeah because we would live together, and his program provides housing benefits for families and established domestic partnerships. Also, it wouldn't make sense to pay an additional $7500 to the same organization for health insurance

OK, now I have to post this pic from my wedding. My parents have a huge friend group, too, and all the kids are the same (ie my) age. We call ourselves "the gang" and had to get a special photo at my wedding.

also LOL at my dad being so short (he's immediately to my left, and for reference, my brother is the super tall dude immediately to my dad's left with glasses)

yeah because

It's kind of ridiculous how stark the differences are. But you've definitely done your research! If you do that, make sure to let the #squad know so we can at least send you gift cards and things haha

It's basically your friend saying "Hey, do you want to waste an entire day of your life kneeling 50 times (Catholic wedding) so that you can eat some average food and give me a gift before driving your sober self home to get drunk alone?"

Totally, I mean personally I told my open bar that we aren't allowing shots at the bar. Only mixed drinks, beer and wine. I just don't want people railing shots and getting fucked up. I am sure people can do that easily enough on regular drinks anyway.

I want to live in New Orleans.
I want to do public interest.
TTTT is where I went to undergrad, I have significant ties to the city.
Got waitlist (yp'd?) from the other big school in the city.
2.5/169

Up until now I've been considering TTTT because 70k cost of attendance sounds fantastic. I think I've (maybe falsley) convinced myself I'd beat the odds of the 25% unemployment.

Oh damn, I am not sure on this one. New Orleans is a tricky one because Louisiana has a different legal system. Edit: Usually I would say look at other options.
