I liked TGW! It was good, more legal-y, and less melodramatic than Suits.

Yes. The internet is destroying us all.

Can confirm I have friends who talk like that IRL :)

Yes, as in,

"Oh Em Gee. I'm literally lolling. That is funny AF. I literally cannot even right now," said the insufferable little brat as she Snapchatted her life away.

Lmaoo. The internet age is a double edged sword. Even though I abbreviate a lot online/text (for convenience), it's really annoying seeing it in real life. But such is life I suppose.

I say Elle Oh Elle sometimes but never when something is funny.
But my best friend and I speak the same squirrel language so that's the least of our dialect.

At least that's English with a dialect (technically). Abbreviations are just chopping up the language lol.

I could really use a hug right about now. I just got my third waitlist in a row... from my top choice (Cornell). No acceptances yet. I can count the number of law schools in the entire country whose 75th percentile LSATs I do not match/beat on one hand... and I've been met by nothing but a combination of unwavering silence and these soft rejections... from the lower T14 and even a non-T14 safety.

MyLSN made me feel much more special than reality has. Someone please tell me it'll be okay. I don't have the optimism left in me to do it myself. :(

Forget talking in short-hand. I loathe how people say "as fuck" or "pretty" to qualify every fucking statement for the past few years. Same with using the word "trash" or saying "literally me" or "this". It's not clever or charming or informative, just patronizing and obnoxious.

I get you. It sort of starts off as a fast and easy way to qualify something, but can get addicting. You would loathe Southern California where many say "like" after every other word lol. I had to consciously make an effort to not get it stuck in my vocabulary. But I don't see it as ppl's faults so much as the American education system + easy access to social media.

I don't think anyone thinks it is informative (or clever though I sure you could find at least one person to prove this statement wrong, I think most people know it's now basic and completely unoriginal) , and I don't really see how it's patronizing.

It's certainly obnoxious though

You'll be alright. On the bright side, apparently Ithaca is depressing and cold. Could be YP. Try writing some LOCIs and see if that's enough to get you off the WL.

Also, MyLSN did me dirty too. According to it, Cornell should've been a good one for me but I was straight up rejected. But this cycle seems strange to me. Schools seem like they're changing what they're looking at or something.

I don't think it's the "fault" of anything, just a new way that people speak. There were many vocal patterns we find odd that took route throughout history in all languages, it's just the nature of a meme
