Not sure. Will change now

Yup, he's a lab/pit (we think--he's a rescue). Usually the most chill dog ever (it's 8:30am and he's still asleep in the bed with my husband), but occasionally does "zoomies" all over the place that make him look mildly insane.

Awww he is adorable. We have two pit mixes - one we think is a lab/pit, the other rott/pit (Not completely sure since they are both shelter rescues) and Chip looks like a perfect mix of the two

Because many of the T14 schools have median 169 or 168 LSATs, they absolutely need to pull a certain % of those LSAT scores to maintain medians. Since those scores are down, anyone that scores a 168 or 169 will be in a good position for acceptance and $$$ relative to last cycle.

Just my two cents

How do you think the 170s being up will impact this? If the 170s are up by a similar amount that the 169s are down, won't schools just draw from the 170s to fill their spots?

They will also need to pull from 170s to maintain median (obviously need to have a certain % above their 50th) but since there are so many 170s (myself included) I'm not sure how much benefit we will have over 170s of previous cycles

The thing is the drop in 165-169 is about double the increase of 170+ IIRC

Theoretically, some of the T14 could maintain/improve their medians and 75ths based on the increase in 170s, and drop a little on their 25ths due to the decrease in 165-169.

Damn, I hope it plays out this way.

Yeah I'm vastly outperforming what I should be (in scholarship money) with my 169 so far.

Really wish I had considered law school while I was still in college. Could have dropped some graduate level STEM courses and taken underwater basket weaving. Beginning to think it would actually have been a lot more beneficial. Kind of a disappointing reality for law school admissions imho.

+1million This this this. I'm an awesome student, but I don't want to do patent or IP law, but I did want to study physics in UG. Why do you hate us adcomms?! Por que? (I know why, this is rhetorical.)

Yeah that's true. I may try to perform more maths and pseudo maths on the numbers. My gut sort of feels there is more competition for those 170s to maintain their medians and 75ths. Not all T14 have a median of 170+ IIRC.

My napkin math is that the 170 increase (which is really all that drives the 170-174 increase of 1%) is offset by the drop from 175-180. Basically net 0 170 and above.

Close to net 0, but not quite. I just did the math (bored at work) and the 170+ group is down 3%.

As you said, this is all driven by the 170 scorers. If you look at just 171+, this group is down 17%.

For T14

Harvard 11% - Pending
Chicago 0% - Pending
Columbia 100% - In
NYU 92% - Pending
Penn 20% - In
Duke 40% - In
UVA 40% - Pending
Michigan 40% - In
NU 63% - In
Cornell 72% - Rejected
Georgetown 75% - In

The problem is my numbers have so few applicants. I would say that besides Cornell I am doing well so far. I was not expecting many rejections, but I am surprised that I have not been Waitlisted anywhere.

Ah - great LSAT score. Makes me a little bummed I underperformed my average of a 175-176 leading up to December, but I'd be more than happy with NYU or UPenn... CLS is great, but I don't think it's worth waiting a year for over either of those and my numbers give me a reasonable and non-negligible shot at those.

Do you mind PMing me a bit more detail about how your cycle goes with money and the like? Your score would be at the top of what I would realistically expect, so I'm kind of curious about that... I'm basically the same UGPA (got slightly bumped up 0.02 by LSAC)... and I'd be curious as to what the difference in money I could expect *if* I buckle back down and sit out.

Sent you some info! Sorry that you under-performed the numbers. I actually jumped my PT average by a point on test day (unexpected!)
