In reference to LSAT scores, I think one of the biggest benefits to be had is at the 169 or 168 mark. Because many of the T14 schools have median 169 or 168 LSATs, they absolutely need to pull a certain % of those LSAT scores to maintain medians. Since those scores are down, anyone that scores a 168 or 169 will be in a good position for acceptance and $$$ relative to last cycle.

Just my two cents

There are only 880 173+ , that is not many for Yale, Harvard and Columbia to split to keep those LSAT medians up.

Do schools care about there 25/75 or do they just care about medians?

I wonder how many of the 169+ applicants have GPAs below the T14 medians. It seems like some schools this cycle are going for the higher GPAs and not liking the splitters as much

Hopefully all of them! I dunno, I was a late applicant so it remains to be seen, but I sort of am running under the assumption the schools have been trying to wait as long as possible for more high scorers... I kind of feel like it'll be a good splitter cycle but a long one.

That's the vibe I've been getting as well. (I'm a 167, not a 169+ though, with a below 25th GPA). Based on previous cycles, my cycle seems a little off. Outside of the T14 (so like T15-T25), I've been doing pretty well. Waiting to see if Georgetown will give me some $$$. Got the feeler email asking how much would be enough to possibly make me bite and I said $100kish. Didn't want to seem too crazy by asking for more because of my GPA, but I'm at median (I think) LSAT for them so I figured I could try... lol

In all honesty, we are probably way over-analyzing the numbers lol

Yeah I feel like that's what NYU is doing and that's why there are so few 169s on lsn who have heard

How do you think the 170s being up will impact this? If the 170s are up by a similar amount that the 169s are down, won't schools just draw from the 170s to fill their spots?

Plot twist:

I applied to BU for the hell of it/as a potential negotiation tool. Got accepted not too long ago. Got my scholly info in the mail today. Impressed with the scholly info, started looking more into Boston, thoroughly read the BU booklet sent with the packet, and BU has managed to make its way towards the top of my (sans-T14) list.

They will also need to pull from 170s to maintain median (obviously need to have a certain % above their 50th) but since there are so many 170s (myself included) I'm not sure how much benefit we will have over 170s of previous cycles
