Congrats! Send me a message if you have any questions about the school, I'm currently a 1L there.

I'm curious as to the general culture of the law school. Any insight there?

Also, do most people plan to practice in VA or Richmond specifically?

It's a small school, so the culture is tightly knit. Some people are clicky, but most everybody is friendly. Just like anywhere else, there are gunners but for the most part, people are willing to help other people out. Lots of study groups share information. You definitely won't find anybody hiding books or the sort here. The 2Ls and 3Ls are incredibly helpful and the professors are very welcoming. Also, I'm not sure about other schools, but our Alumni are extremely active. I've already made a few strong connections in 7 weeks here.

The school has solid connections in Richmond. I can't really speak for everybody else and their employment plans but it is a regional school. That said, we have professors with varied experiences all over the country. Many connections to be had. As of now, it seems a lot of people are interested in staying in Richmond. It is a pretty unique city. A few people are planning seeking out work in their home state (that I know of).

Awesome, thanks for that. It's the closest law school to me, though I am considering a wide variety of options. Is there much interest/resources in PI?

Sorry for not responding quickly, we had fall break and I took the opportunity to put law school on the back burner for a couple days.

I'm still only a couple months into law school so take what I have to say with a grain of salt.

As you probably already know, we have a lot of courts in Richmond so public interest opportunities are abound. Last Friday, we actually had a panel with 3 alums who went the public interest route. We have alumni judges (this isn't really a unique aspect) but the nice thing is that the court system is our backyard. Quite Literally. Lots of opportunities.

Congrats to everyone who has already heard back with good news. How long did it take for most people to hear back? I just went complete this past Thursday.

Did Richmond email you a link to their online status checker? I submitted my app 11/08 and haven't heard back about anything.

Straight from the application receipt email "We do not have an online status checker, as we much prefer to communicate with our applicants personally. Please feel free to be in touch via email or phone to check on the status of your application"

I've yet to receive their app receipt email. All I've gotten so far was the LSAC payment confirmation. Nothing in my spam. I'll call them tomorrow and what's my status.

Current applicants and current students: when did y'all receive your scholarship offers/have you yet? I got my acceptance yesterday and she said it would be March when I got the scholarship offer, but I'm too anxious/excited to wait that long! Just wondering if they typically come before March or if that's pretty much when everyone gets them. Thanks!

Thanks! I just called and they told me it was received, just no email was sent and if they need anything, they'll email me. Do you know if they use LSAC at all to show if our app is under review? Is this your #1?

I never even received email notification that my application was received, but I received a phone call from the Dean of Admissions today notifying me of my admission and my scholarship $$$ potential! (She said scholarship offers won't go out till later).

Did she give you an actual dollar amount? When I received my call I was just told "a substantial amount" and I'm dying to know what that actually means haha
