Re: Alabama c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I'm guessing this means I'm waitlisted? Status says "Pending Final Committee Decision" with this in the header:
"The Admissions Committee has completed an initial review of your application, but has not yet made a final decision. The Committee often reviews a file several times during the admissions cycle, which continues through mid-August. In its future review, the Committee may vote to admit or deny your application, but it also may decide to continue to hold your file for further review. Thus, your status could remain open without final decision for several months, depending on when you submitted your application. The Admissions Committee typically prepares the final waitlist by late May."

Yes, I think it means you were waitlisted. The seat deposit for admitted students is April 1. Once that deadline comes and goes they will probably reevaluate files based on who paid seat deposits etc.I'm guessing this means I'm waitlisted?
For what it is worth, the admissions department at UA is really really nice. If you want clarification on what it means or what you can expect in the next few months, you can give them a call!

So if that's waitlist I'm assuming this is a ding? Status says "Pending Final Committee Decision" Current Status Date: 3/10/2016pleadthafif wrote:I'm guessing this means I'm waitlisted? Status says "Pending Final Committee Decision" with this in the header:

up top it says "Thank you for submitting your application to The University of Alabama School of Law. If you have any questions about the status of your application, please contact the Admissions Office at admissions@law.ua.edu or (205) 348-5440."
just give me a decision (ding or in) already....

It might be. Does it give any info about a seat deposit anywhere?"Decision made, letter has been mailed to permanent address." I'm assuming it's a ding, correct?

I went UR1 on 02/04 and UR2 on 02/17, but my status hasn't budged since then. Starting to lose a little interest in Alabama as I already have good offers from UGA, UNC and W&M.
Come on, Bama! Plz hurry up.

I had the same thing and received ding via snail mail today. Since this is my first ding do law schools usually encourage transferring next year in their rejection letters? I thought it was odd, wondering if it's common practice.HomesickTexasn wrote:It might be. In my experience it's not uncommon, but not standard operating procedure. When I got dinged by a T-6 school I got a standard rejection letter, followed by a letter from an admissions officer saying my GPA was below their floor and "if you perform as well as your test scores and recommenders indicate, we would gladly consider your transfer application following your first year at an ABA-accredited law school."michelekfla wrote:I had the same thing and received ding via snail mail today. So basically, don't read too much into it unless they go out of their way to make sure you notice.

Re: Alabama c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
yeah Bama isn't high on my list and have no interest in transferring. I was just wondering because it was my 1st rejection letter and didn't know if it's something law schools do. It tells you how to apply for transfer and info like that. They also hand wrote on the bottom of the letter "Michele Thank you for your interest in Alabama" Again seems weird to make such an effort on a ding.BirdLawExpert wrote:In my experience it's not uncommon, but not standard operating procedure. I just withdrew my offer of admission. Hopefully my decision will help someone on the waitlist.

Have you guys ever heard of them making a decision at night? I left work at 7 CST and they still had not, then when i checked (out of habit...and obsession) it changed to "decision made" and that it will be mailed to my personal address. I'm assuming this means I have been denied, or waitlisted(?). Do they also send out a letter for WL?

Alright so I've been pending final committee decision since March.... is anyone else in the same boat as frustrated as I am? Anyone brave enough to call the admissions office and ask for everyone else stuck in the waiting game?

Re: Alabama c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Pretty sure I've been accepted... Got a call last night from the Dean of Admissions. I was on the treadmill, so I missed it, but she left a voicemail saying she has good news. Called back like 30 minutes later and didn't get an answer, so now it just feels awkward haha I guess we'll see what happens today.
Edit: Accepted via phone call this afternoon with a good sized scholarship. I'm still pretty sure I'm heading elsewhere, but I'll definitely give this offer some thought.
