Yes. I submitted in Feb but it was held for the Feb LSAT so I didn't go complete until 3/1. Put on preferred waitlist last Friday.

Does anyone now how serious GULC is with sharing your name with admissions offices if you sign the seat deposit waiver? $1000 is a lot for me right now and I've withdrawn from all the schools except for the 1 I have yet to hear back from.

If you're down to one and GULC did share, losing a grand would be nothing in comparison to getting blackballed by your final two schools... I don't think either would look fondly on a future lawyer putting his name on something mildly contractual and disrespecting it. I mean even if the odds are super slim the risk-reward isn't there IMO.

For any waitlisted who aren't on our waitlist thread:

Good afternoon from Georgetown. I'm writing to you today to give you an update on the Georgetown waiting list. As you know, you are on our preferred waiting list, which we typically look to first if spaces open up in the entering class.

As of today our deposits are quite strong, and we are not planning to make many offers prior to our May 1st deposit deadline. However, these things have a way of changing so it is always possible we will have room in the next few weeks.

If we do extend offers of admission, the Committee will be particularly interested in applicants who truly want to be at Georgetown. Please continue to keep in touch with us with your level of interest and any changes in your application through admis@law.georgetown.edu.

If you don't hear from us earlier, the key date for us (and you) is May 2nd when our first deposits are due. With the usual extension requests, we will know for sure whether we have any Round One openings by Monday, May 9th at the latest. We will be back in touch then, if not before.

We look forward to hearing back from you and we thank you again for your continued interest in Georgetown and for your patience with our process.

Has anyone out there been accepted recently, or still waiting, especially part time applicants? I've only seen people reporting wait list emails lately. I went complete March 1, and have heard nothing except for a "sometimes it takes 12 weeks" email in response to my asking.

It is generally advisable not to sign things saying you'll do something with the intention of not doing it, especially when applying to law schools.

Sounds like you might be waiting 12 weeks.

I got the email as a merit alternate that they will notify me on tuesday about if/how much they decided to give me.

Send me good vibes! Otherwise, unfortunately, I will be forced to withdraw.

Hi. To those who have visited the school: What was your experience like? Do you have any tips or advice? I am on the preferred waitlist. Thank you in advance!

I just withdrew my acceptance and scholarship offer this morning. Hopefully it frees up a spot for one of you on the waitlist! Good luck everyone!

gazorpazorp wrote:Question about this "Intent to Enroll" form...

When I first received the form, I was told A) it was due on April 1st, B) it wasn't binding, and C) it would only be binding if I voluntary checked off the box to have my tuition deposits waived.

Since then, I was upgraded to an Opportunity Scholarship and given an extension to hand it in on 4/15. I was told that as an Opportunity Scholar, my deposits would be waived automatically once I send in the form. But... that doesn't make it binding does it? I'm not ready to fully commit to GULC -- I'd rather pay the deposits...
Hey did you ever get an answer on this I'm conflicted on whether to fill out the form

I attended the campus info session today. They said decisions are coming next week on remaining waitlist spots. They said patience was the name of the game. Good luck all!

Unless things are super different this cycle this is really stupid. Post deposit negotiating is fine and doesn't put you on any blacklist. No idea if they share your info with other schools tho

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
