I've seen some threads about this in the past (not sure which forum) - but it comes down to a question of how much you want to spend and what's important to you. A lot of people want lighter computers because of how many books you have during LS. I'd also factor in warranties/service turnaround. PC vs Mac should make no difference in terms of programs needed, but double check with your school's IT when you attend to see if your comp's specs would be compatible with the school's exam software.Li'l Sebastian wrote:What is the best laptop on the market today for law school and professional work?

Re: c/o 2019 Applicant Compendium (2015 - 2016)
I know I got that free laptop offer from some school, I think in the South (Alabama??).
Anyway, I always check out the Wirecutter (website) for tech recommendations. They're great because they usually just have a "best" thing (laptop, television, cheap headphones, etc.). This is nice because you don't have to read a whole review and compare scores. The only downside is that their recommended products have a bad habit of increasing in price due to the increase in purchases off the recommendation.
I think their current laptop recs are a MacBook Air and the Dell XPS 13. If they're compatible with your school's tech, can't go wrong.

For anyone who obsesses over cycle data, this information might be relevant to your interests. Obviously it doesn't include score distribution and further breakdown that Spivey gives and so is more useful as a general snapshot of the larger applicant pool rather than a look at the preftigious lawl schools to which many here have applied.

Occurred to me a few hours late that maybe you guys might enjoy the leaked 2016 USNWR rankings too. Spivey only has the top 50, but there are some notable shake-ups, if the list is to be believed. http://blog.spiveyconsulting.com/2017-2 ... -are-here/

Help me out here... What exactly is the process here. I just fill out what school I reasonably expect to go to and then what school I end up going to? Or am I confused? I am a regular Andy Dwyer.benwyatt wrote:Just gonna bump this sheet here because it's fun:

Exactly!! It was a lil more fun earlier on before people started getting acceptances, though!Dawg57 wrote:Help me out here... What exactly is the process here. Re: c/o 2019 Applicant Compendium (2015 - 2016)
well benwyatt ... Due to my plan being a bit unlike the masses of posters here. My expected schools are pretty straight split between Wake and UT-Knoxville, neither of which are drop down options, no real surprise there. so perhaps in the future I will fill it out for the hell of it. But I imagine my data point does not add much to the convo, what with my plan on riding $$$$ and a regional network into a small-mid law careerbarley wrote:Exactly!! I'll be back Saturday! Luckily I'm on a beach so I can't complain too much so far no follow up emails though so I'm doubtful it's anything actually exciting. It's like a fun mystery!James.K.Polk wrote:Damn, how long are you gone for? This wait would kill me.
