Oh, good to know. I thought I saw something about May 1st, but I guess not. It'll be interesting to see what happens after tomorrow; I think last year people reported it dipping to 130

I imagine we need to give admissions a little time to let the dust settle and then see how many people are in in a few days. Plus, the latest admits have a slightly later deposit date.

Also, you have to factor in CA time. It was like 9am when we got the count, so we could even have a good idea by the end of the day

I went back and looked at last year again. Apparently, it didn't drop as much as I thought at first. It was at 172 a day after the deadline, but was "about 130" as of the 16th.

Checking in with my fingers crossed!
I went through last year's thread and here's some useful information I pulled from it:
An old 2010 blog from Dean Deal on the waitlist:
https://blogs.law.stanford.edu/admissio ... st-update/
In past years, a trickle of WL acceptance movement has usually started around mid-late June. It looks like LSN shows some WL movement in late May, but that's the exception, not the rule. People get off the WL as late as August.

Last year things started June 5th, but I think they might be behind this year- unfortunately. This really sucks because it means a lot of people admitted off of the wait list might not be accepted before the 2nd round housing lottery.paragonloop wrote:Checking in with my fingers crossed!

Part of me wonders what it is that makes it so hard for Stanford to start on the WL earlier- Harvard and Yale seem to be able to dig into it almost immediately after deadlines, while Stanford takes at least a month to even begin to look at apps(it seems).

Almost done with my letter of continued interest! Thinking of getting an additional letter of recommendation, but I already sent them four when I applied! Is it an overkill to send an extra?

Re: Stanford Law Waitlist c/o 2018
Has anyone noticed there has been a large increase this year on LSN of "Accepted, Withdrew" on Stanford's applicant page? There are 18 people who reported being accepted, but withdrew this year compared to 12 last year and 13 the year before (I counted the user "selinakyle" as part of last year, even though she shows up on this year's cycle, because her dates indicate her cycle was last year). There doesn't seem to be an increase in LSN users this year compared to last year (in fact there are less users who appear on Stanford applicants page this year than last).
Anyone know what to make of this? Is their yield down?

Re: Stanford Law Waitlist c/o 2018
Sample size is too small to make any real claims. There's not really a great way to get an indication of yield at this point. We could maybe look at what happens with Harvard and Yale in the coming days/weeks with their waitlist, because these schools tend to trade applicants- If Harvard admits many more people off the WL than in past years then it stands to reason a lot of these applicants are staying at Stanford or Yale.nejlas wrote:Has anyone noticed there has been a large increase this year on LSN of "Accepted, Withdrew" on Stanford's applicant page? Just to point out, there are at least 4 other people who withdrew who aren't listed as A, W. There are 2 noted deferrals and 2 who accepted elsewhere but did not note a W for Stanford.nejlas wrote:Has anyone noticed there has been a large increase this year on LSN of "Accepted, Withdrew" on Stanford's applicant page? What is the standard for new LORs? Should I email them directly to them, or do I do it through the LSAC website?

Do both because it takes LSAC forever to send themOskosh wrote:What is the standard for new LORs? Should I email them directly to them, or do I do it through the LSAC website?

Yeah, I guess my expectations for how quickly they process everyone are a bit off. People in last year's thread commented on how quick they were, but it didn't really drop off that much until the 15th (ish). Maybe it's more of a slow trickle as they go through individually.strugglebus wrote:It definitely still has some admits who've committed elsewherered5332 wrote:Sort of scared that the number is still that high...lc39 wrote:191 members this afternoon.
