So i just did it yesterday
Probably hurt my chances right? What yall think?
If you deferred back in February, I think they gave you until the 29th to respond. They might have withdrew your application. I would call them to make sure you're still in.

in the 2006-07 cycle there were 161 wl with 70 wdraws. out of those 90, 6 were wl/accepted, 35 were rejected. obviously this cannot be entirely accurate as not everyone is on lsn, and not all aplicants with wl updated their status. however there were about 1000 apps for columbia on the lsn site for 06-07 rep about 1/7 of their total apps. so by using that ratio and omitting alot of variables, we can estimate: 1127 wl,490 withdrew = 637 wl applicants x .06 (ratio of offers to wl applicants)=38.22 wl/acceptances. so about 38 ppl and a little person were granted acceptance.
similar numbers can be found for the 05-06 cycle. if any one can make this model a little bit more accurate plz do.
this is what i do all day, computing my odds of making it in off the waitlist, as i want to go tremendously.

For size of the pool, lsn is probably biased to applicants with a better numbers chance, so I don't think that you can scale up by saying that 1/7 of applicants on lsn get reserved so that equates to 1/7 of whole applicant pool. Probably closer to 500 or less applicants reserved, not 1127. Then, based on your percentage wl/accept from lsn, that would be about 18 people...which sounds in line with what I would expect.
Best of luck with your wait...hope you get in!

Yeah. I thought it was a rejection for sure until I picked it up and realized it was two pieces of paper. Why would they need two sheets to reject me? So I opened it with a little more optimism.
