Re: Columbia Reserve
If you deferred back in February, I think they gave you until the 29th to respond. They might have withdrew your application. I would call them to make sure you're still in.jerry maguire wrote:Hi yall, I got put on reserve back in Feb, forgot to do the website thing saying I wanted to stay on it lolol
So i just did it yesterday

Re: Columbia Reserve
considering they are putting exactly 1,000,000 of us on it, i'd say our chances are not good

Re: Columbia Reserve
i was also placed on reserve around march 27th. im still staying on the waitlist as columbia is my first choice. i did a little bit of lawschool number research and came up with these figures:
in the 2006-07 cycle there were 161 wl with 70 wdraws. out of those 90, 6 were wl/accepted, 35 were rejected. obviously this cannot be entirely accurate as not everyone is on lsn, and not all aplicants with wl updated their status. however there were about 1000 apps for columbia on the lsn site for 06-07 rep about 1/7 of their total apps. so by using that ratio and omitting alot of variables, we can estimate: 1127 wl,490 withdrew = 637 wl applicants x .06 (ratio of offers to wl applicants)=38.22 wl/acceptances. so about 38 ppl and a little person were granted acceptance.
similar numbers can be found for the 05-06 cycle. if any one can make this model a little bit more accurate plz do.
this is what i do all day, computing my odds of making it in off the waitlist, as i want to go tremendously.

Re: Columbia Reserve
The % of the waitlist that got admitted on lsn is probably pretty close to real life since people would be more likely to update their status if they were accepted than not accepted over the summer. So I think your % of the pool is probably ok.
For size of the pool, lsn is probably biased to applicants with a better numbers chance, so I don't think that you can scale up by saying that 1/7 of applicants on lsn get reserved so that equates to 1/7 of whole applicant pool. Probably closer to 500 or less applicants reserved, not 1127. Then, based on your percentage wl/accept from lsn, that would be about 18 people...which sounds in line with what I would expect.
Best of luck with your wait...hope you get in!

Hahaha I read this whole thread thinking it was current until I got to the "Defer to 2009" part. I got the letter today too, 170/3.42. I expected a rejection, def.

I was confused when I first checked out this thread as well. There's a current Reserve thread here: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 7&t=113213.

Yeah. I thought it was a rejection for sure until I picked it up and realized it was two pieces of paper. Why would they need two sheets to reject me? So I opened it with a little more optimism.Z3RO wrote:Did you two get it snail-mail?
