I got that call too! Does anyone know if that means you're basically in, or they do it to a lot of people just to make sure everyone they reevaluate is still interested?

Why would they call ahead of the deposit deadlines? Are any of the wait-listed people potential named scholarship people maybe waitlisted for Yield protection?

Alternatively, this could be a good sign (I hope) if they are worried ahead of the deadline. What a contrast to UVA who emailed saying its possible they admit no one off the WL this year...

I forgot to post in this thread, but I was accepted off the waitlist on 4/27 after receiving an interest gauging phone call the week before. I am also LSAT<25%, GPA>75%. Good luck to all!!

I got a call gauging interest (not sure of the outcome yet) and I was GPA<%25, LSAT at median

I got a call as well and I'm GPA<25%, LSAT>75%. I think they're picking top numbers for both LSAT and GPA to make up for those they are losing to HYS, etc.

Seems like a few inquiring phone calls have gone out. Although yeah, I guess you'd expect more movement at a place like Penn, but I didn't really expect too much too soon.

When I called last week i was told an email would be sent out at the middle of this week with some detailed info (maybe even a number of how many folks are on the waitlist and how many offers they plan to make) so hopefully that information is correct.

Any do the "informative/not an interview" phone call? That's where I am getting the above information, from my own phone meeting.

Nothing too informative in the email. Interesting that there's the option to sign up for a "not-an-interview." I had not heard of the phone thing, but I'm down for a chat haha.

Yeah, Penn admissions has told me several things this cycle that have not proven to be entirely (mostly? kind of?) accurate. Seems like they sometimes just say things to mollify applicants. Meh. Oh well, roll with the punches.

Or, to paraphrase one of my favorite lines ever: "The Penn Law admissions office never lies. The truth just changes."
