Jess asked me what my plans are for next year and I told her I'm going to Chi on a half scholly and that I'm on the fence about Harvard because of financial reasons. Jess told me to take a look at the financial aid info on the H website to get a ballpark estimate and to get back to her as soon as possible regarding whether I would be comfortable going to a need based system of financial aid. I distinctly remember her saying that "a waitlist offer from Harvard is the end of the conversation, not the beginning of the conversation."

I have a sneaking suspicion that if I had said I was sold on H, I would've gotten an offer (based on her words/tone and what has been posted in this thread) but I didn't feel comfortable stating that I had no reservations about enrolling when that's not the case.
Exactly the same as my convo with her. What you thinking you going to do?

Please, Harvard. Please. Please don't make me wait another 12 days. My stomach lining can't handle it. Either let me in, or give me a Ned Stark-style ending. Just make it quick.
I think we're just going to have to accept that we are Sansa. Ever tortured.
OH MY GOD. I haven't had a chance to watch this week's episode. My fiancee told me something bad happened to a character but said he wasn't going to tell me so I could watch it. So now today I haven't gotten into Harvard so far AND this week's episode is spoiled. You're in trouble.

I hate me. Im sowwwwwwy !!!!
One day when we both get pulled off this wait list, I promise you I will buy you a delicious Cambridge cookie.

I had a very similar conversation with her (although my hesitation was more about if I could secure the loans and it was explicit that I would have an offer if I said yes).

On a related note to that, one more spot just opened up to those of you about to throw up, since I had to say no after all.

So gutwrenching to send that email though. Not too upset at the outcome though.

So are we thinking that's all for the day? I'd like to start drinking if it's a safe assumption that I'm not going to be getting a phone call that I need to pretend to be sober for.

Might you expand on the difficulties to secure a loan? Or are you an international student?

I am an international student, although even that is not too bad because Harvard does offer institutional loans to international students.

My problem was I could barely justify Harvard as is, so could only accept if I could increase my current loan, which has an interest rate of about 3%, whereas Harvard's would be 5.5%+, which makes the cost disparity even more stark.

Did you expect things to work out well between Sansa and Ramsey?

Also what kind of clue is that, "something bad happened to a character." Something bad is always happening to someone on that show. When did something good ever happen to someone.

In the pilot episode 5/6 children got a free puppy and did not pay for it with their legs. Those are pretty good odds.

My GF just texted me and told me she's reading my comments ITT rather than waiting eagerly by the phone.

So I just cannibalized the 2017 WL thread and this is correct. They had one day of JS2's and then they had to wait 2 weeks for the next wave of JS2's.

I've been burned on this before but I think this means those of us with both Pre-WL and Post-WL JS1's are in for a long wait. There should be JS1's and JS1b's in the mix too to liven it up though.
