Hey KMart! I was begging to think it would just be me in the Mich WL thread. Hopefully 10 is just their initial decision and there's room for many more.KMart wrote:I interpreted it as "at most as".

I always wonder how many people are still on the WL. LSN can only tell you a small amount .

Re: Michigan Law Waitlist c/o 2018
1. Does Umich do all their WL updates on their FAQ page and/or twitter? I'm surprised I haven't heard a peep from them via email, every other t14 I am WLd at (there are several) has sent one right around their respective deposit deadline about how space is looking, key dates, etc. Has anyone received an email from them since the WL email?
2. Can anyone speak to the truth, anecdotally or otherwise, of people getting off WL and then getting scholly $$ too? I've heard Michigan is a t14 (Duke another I've heard this about) known for this....
Thanks !

Re: Michigan Law Waitlist c/o 2018
1) From previous years it seems UMich updates their FAQ page primarily, but around late May an email is sent asking if people still on the WL are still interested in being considered. Normally this takes place after May 15th when they can see which students have deposited at Michigan as well as other schools.
2) based on the 2 WL--->Admits on LSN. I'd say a nice scholarship is a possibility. One student received 150k and the other 45k, so at least they're getting something

Any speculation on how many are on the WL or what our chances of acceptances are? The WL FAQ says "the smart money is on more offers" this year and based on LSN there seems to be a number of withdraws from the WL as wells as people withdrawing their acceptance. I guess we'll see soon enough.

+1 thanks !!
Also, 150k from someone initially on the WL? Damn!! Maybe yield protect turned to "hey UMich I really wanna go here show me the $ and I'm set"

Yeah...this has died down quite a bit. I'm surprised to see only 2 reports from LSN when there has been so much WL movement this week.
Can't tell if that's a good thing or a bad thing...but I think it might be a long shot for me anyway at this point.
We'll see!

I'm hoping the lack of axtivity in this thread is indicative of the lack of folks still on the WL

What is May 15th? I thought the second seat deposit was June 15th?

May 15th is when schools find out how many of their deposited students are also deposited elsewhere, and adjust yield predictions accordingly.omd3117 wrote:MadwomanintheAttic wrote:May 15th is just around the corner. Any blind speculation on WL movement?

We've seen some pretty substantial WL waves at other schools. Any speculation on when it's our time?
Edit: I would settle for a FAQ update. Just give me something!

Re: Michigan Law Waitlist c/o 2018
Also, WL FAQ update:
We are continuing to evaluate the waitlist with the intention of making a few fall-start offers. In addition, we are currently contacting people whom the LSAC has identified as holding deposits at Michigan and one or more other law schools, to ascertain the likelihood of enrollment here; that process may lead us to conclude that more offers for the fall will be appropriate. We will contact everyone we're considering for admission by telephone or email. If we make an offer, candidates will have two weeks to consider before making a commitment.
On June 1, we will be releasing a number of people from the waitlist, whom we know we can’t admit. Afterwards, we will be sending an email to everyone on the waitlist to assess their level of ongoing interest. We expect that will result in a narrowing of the waitlist pool, as some people will have made firm plans at another law school.
