I got my scholarship info in a letter (snail) I received about two days after the admitted email. Then, about 3-4 more days later I got another letter (snail) which stated the scholarship stipulations. (you most likely need to maintain a 3.0 GPA to continue receiving the award the following years.

I was accepted about 7 days after I sent in the app although the amount of scholarship rewarded is not enough. Does anyone know about how much more you can sneak out of them by negotiating? ~ on average

Stop doing this. The Acceptances/Denials/Waistlists forum is not the place for this discussion.

have not. planning to. waiting for USF to get back to me and waiting to see my scholarship potential at UC Hastings. Have not heard anything. I got a good offer so will likely attend even if I cannot get more but I would def ask once, nicely. Be careful. Especially since it is your first choice. I have heard stories in which the prospective student gets told 'well, good luck at xyz then,' in response to hard line negotiating tactics of 'xyz school offered me more'...

How do you guys recommend going about negotiating scholarship? I received a little less than $10,000 at SCU and was hoping to receive around $15,000 at least. I just finished all of my other apps a week ago so I am waiting on a reply. The only thing I received so far was $25,000 at McGeorge but have no interest in attending. Any suggestions on how to go about negotiating with SCU without having them wish me luck at another school?

No idea if this is good advice, but...
Instead of asking them to match an offer from another school and risk them saying good luck, you could just say, "I really want to come here, but I don't think I can make it work financially unless I get X amount." If you frame your choice as not one school v. another but going to law school v. not going, it might remove the likelihood of them simply taking the offer off the table. It also admits you have almost no leverage because no competing offer, but it may be lower risk lower reward.

I agree that in this case it would not be good to negotiate with the mcgeorge scholarship because it would be deceptive. You decided not to attend, so pretending you are considering attending McGeorge to get more money out of Santa Clara would be unethical, and also very likely unsuccessful...

Hi! We have similar numbers- why do you think you will not be attending? I am not sure what to do so it would help to get your thoughts...

Not really interested to be honest, and have full rides offers to comparable schools elsewhere. I wouldn't consider sant Clara unless it was full ride with reasonable stips

Anyone on here applying for the PT program?
I've been working in M&A for a large firm for a year now and lucked out with an offer from my boss to A.) Transfer to our Bay Area office and B.) Attend at either SCU or USF part-time with a guaranteed Associate offer upon graduation and passage of the CA Bar Exam.
I'm above the 75th for GPA and below the 25th for LSAT (extenuating circumstances...writing an addendum for my first LSAT score). I sat for the exam a second time on Saturday, but I honestly cannot tell if things will break my way.
I'm painfully nervous about the entire process. I want to be able to seize the guaranteed offer from my firm.

Given that Santa Clara needs all the help they can get with regards to their employment statistics, I wonder if a letter of rec from you employer stating you have a guaranteed offer will be attractive to them.

Applied on Wednesday of last week and was accepted via email on Saturday. Was not expecting such a fast turnaround, but so grateful to be accepted to such a solid tech school. As of today still waiting for my packet in the regular mail.

I applied PT too but my status is "Pending February LSAT" so I guess it will be another few weeks for a decision.

Do they send the Diversity Day email to all applicants? I thought it was an admitted students day, but I'm still thinking I can't take this as a sign that I might be in.
