I spoke with admissions earlier this week and it's all just a matter of where you are in line since it's rolling admissions.
FWIW, I went complete at the beginning of this month and they told me that a decision will be handed down either next week or the week after.

Thank you for the info!!! I went complete last week too - as soon as LSAT scores were released.
Next week would be great. This is seriously impacting my productivity

For those who have been accepted, did you receive an standardized email and then the letter in the mail? I have heard that Santa Clara sometimes sends "personalized" emails of acceptance from faculty members or deans.

I am contemplating attending if scholarship negotiation works out. It is a peaceful school in a solid area. I am not even doing IP law, leaning toward criminal and civil litigation. Anyone else thinking about attending and looking for possible roommate situations let me know. Good luck everybody!!

Can one actually find decent housing that will not cost nearly the same as tuition over the course of a year?MsAvocadoPit wrote:good luck all! Feel free to msg me with any questions. Current 2L @ SCU

Hey - it depends how close to campus you want to be. I do not live on campus nor in the vicinity. I live 20 minutes away. Cost of living is higher... just a fact of life, sorry Personally, I like being away from campus. It's an undergraduate university too, I want to be away from the kiddos.PropaneAccessories wrote:Can one actually find decent housing that will not cost nearly the same as tuition over the course of a year?MsAvocadoPit wrote:good luck all! I just received my snail mail acceptance packet (a few days after the acceptance email) and it stated I was a recipient of a Emery Merit Scholarship yet it gave no information other than the amount. I was wondering if anyone knew more information such as is it renewable or does it come with any stipulations? Thanks!

you will get another letter in the mail in a few days including the stipulations. it will most likely be renewable yearly if you maintain a 3.0 GPA (they are on a 4.33 scale)goldenstatewarriors wrote:I just received my snail mail acceptance packet (a few days after the acceptance email) and it stated I was a recipient of a Emery Merit Scholarship yet it gave no information other than the amount. Check out the Scholarship Retention Data towards the end of the page. Only 59% of scholarship recipients had their awards renewed after the first year. Just something to be wary of. I would try to negotiate the stipulation away if at all possible.

No worries; it's what I figured. It makes the on-campus housing for graduate and law students that much more appealing, but my guess is that securing a spot in one of those residences is hard to come by.MsAvocadoPit wrote:Hey - it depends how close to campus you want to be. If you're from a rural place, bay area housing costs seem crazy. But relative to some places (Palo Alto, San Francisco, Downtown San Jose), you can save some money by commuting 20 minutes from a suburb. I'd aim for Milpitas, east San Jose, and even large parts of Santa Clara itself. I've lived in all of those areas, by the way, and you'll see no real lifestyle difference between them.PropaneAccessories wrote:Can one actually find decent housing that will not cost nearly the same as tuition over the course of a year?MsAvocadoPit wrote:good luck all!
