I was emailed Thursday 6/11/15 in regards to my continued interest in attending UCLA (w/o having sent a LOCI after being waitlisted). Invited to interview via Skype with the dean.

I wish that when people with good money withdrew they'd come back to some of us initial admits who didn't deposit because of small scholarship offers before admitting more people of the WL. But I suppose if they can get people off the WL for less $ there's not much incentive unless they're not hitting their medians.1mill wrote:Yes they are.Iwanttolawschool wrote:The deadline was yesterday... Re: UCLA Waitlist for c/o 2018 (2014-2015 cycle)
I actually just asked Spivey a question sort of regarding that yesterday. Basically he said, when someone withdraws its not like money it put back into some pot. They have a quota for revenue to bring in, not a budget to give out. SO it makes sense to get someone new, who will take less. More money for them.spencercross wrote:I wish that when people with good money withdrew they'd come back to some of us initial admits who didn't deposit because of small scholarship offers before admitting more people of the WL. Re: UCLA Waitlist for c/o 2018 (2014-2015 cycle)
for those of you who have interviewed but not received "the call"
i would assume you are all on some sort of short list for acceptance as long as you didnt blow the interview(s)
when i spoke to the dean at an accepted students' event, she seemed to indicate that the class was full
however, waitlist activity starts from the top and butterfly effects on down with typically larger schools having greatest influence.
the more kids harvard takes off their waitlist, the more kids nyu takes off their WL to fill the seats they lost to harvard, and so on and so forth
now it seems that a lot of the middle-lower t-14's like NU and cornell are ramping up their WL activity so i'm sure some spots will open up for some of you
good luck and keep your chin up!

Yet to receive a call or anything, is there any point in writhing LOCI's anymore? is the list over? When do they let us know that we did not get in, if they even do?

Also wondering the same thing about if there is still any chance for people on the list. Although I don't think they ever tell you "no," it's just how long you are willing to wait. I've heard of cases where people get offered a spot the day before classes start which is kind of a long shot, but you never know, someone might drop out.Ambient Bass wrote:Yet to receive a call or anything, is there any point in writhing LOCI's anymore? is the list over? I'd expect a few spots to open up yet. The T14 schools are pulling from their WL's now, and there will be at least a dozen who trade up from UCLA.Drowninmyowntears wrote:Also wondering the same thing about if there is still any chance for people on the list. I think the major activity is done from the waitlist.
