Just curious, has anyone who took Feb LSAT gone under review yet? I've been sitting at complete since the scores came out.

I took the Feb LSAT. My status checker shows "Application In Review" as of 3/4/15.

I have been complete since mid January and when I email them regarding my status I did not receive a reply.. any ideas on what this could mean? People are saying they went complete afterwards and have already received a reply.. :?

Hey Bay, I was in the same boat. I was "complete" since beginning of January, and they only changed the status to "under review" yesterday.

I'm not holding my breath too much since I'm below their medians for LSAT/GPA, but I had really good LOR's and Extra cirric's.....

Anyways, I hope you get in (hell both of us get in). Hastings has been INCREDIBLY dismissive with regards to people contacting them about admissions though. The guy on the phone seems very patronizing.

Hey I am on the same boat as you. Nearly median GPA but LSAT is below median. Good luck to you as well hopefully we both get in there and somehow sneak some scholarship $$ with us. 8)

According to Law School Numbers there have been a few.

Any thoughts on hastings vs USF? Would I be crazy to choose USF over hastings? I'm interested in international human Rights and public interest law. I like the smaller class size at USF and more supportive environment (from what I gathered after visiting the two). USF also offers some great clinics in my interest areas. Hastings will cone out to around 40k more but their alumni network, reputation, location, and journals make it a hard decision. I know hastings has an international human rights clinic as well but USF also just opened a clinic for detained unaccompanied minors, an immigration clinic, and they have a juvenile justice clinic (all areas of interest). Also, to be honest I feel like my grades would be better at USF. I do not want to regret my decision!

Based on what you've said Horse, I would definitely recommend USF. The only reason I haven't taken their offer is because of the stip with their scholarship award, and they don't really offer as many opportunities for Health/IP law that I'm interested in. But I have no doubts that you'll do better and flourish in a school that not only focuses on the things you enjoy, but also don't have as much of the hardcore breakneck attitude that a school like Hastings may have.

But that's just my two cents. Cost and location should always carry the most weight in any law school decision.

Um, no. Cost is certainly important, and so is regionality if it's not a top school, but employment statistics should carry the most weight in a law school decision.

http://www.lstscorereports.com/schools/sanfrancisco/

A paltry one out of three USF graduates end up with a job that involves law. Their LSAT and GPA medians have been plummeting for years. The school is a disaster and everyone should stay far, far away from it. It's not even worth attending for free.

Hastings' numbers aren't much better, and is seeing similar LSAT/GPA trends, but at least Hastings still has some name recognition from older SF employers. Not that this is the thread to discuss the merits of Hastings, but please don't go to USF. The specialties mean absolutely nothing in the face of a 34% employment rate.

I'm not going to bother going against the hivemind here, but I will provide this resource for you to read over while making your decision Horse.

Yeah man, fight the hivemind. It's really just a bunch of people ganging up on little schools with their fancy numbers and statistics.

Fun fact, the guy who wrote that article went to a school where only 1 in 5 students graduates with ANY legal job after giving up $132,000 for tuition, $60,000+ for San Francisco living expenses, and three years of their life for their degree. So yeah, I wouldn't expect him to be the champion of employment rates.

But really, lie to yourself that the Internet Bullies are just trying to make you feel bad and aren't trying to help you.
