An alumni? No. I got an email from a professor. His email was related to what I put in my personal statement. Although it still looked like a blanket email that they send to everyone.

I got the alumni email from a partner (class of '85) at the biggest law firm in my state. I don't know what to make of it. I think it's pretty cool that they have a good network of alumni willing to help in the process, but I also know that being a Big Law partner in a mid-sized state across the country is not a realistic goal after graduating from Iowa these days.

It is something I guess. Admissions said they rarely send materials through USPS and do everything through email. Like you said, it is probably their way of showing how big their network is.

Okay yeah, pretty sure we got a letter from the same person. I appreciated it. I'm definitely interested in the prospects of working outside of the Midwest market.

I don't plan to. From the itinerary and description it seems much more geared to those who haven't applied at all or are younger undergrads. I'm holding out for a "true" ASW type deal.

Most likely will with my parents. Or maybe visit sometime in Jan since they probably won't be able to visit anytime later after those two months.

Found out I got WLed awhile ago at this school. Probably due to a YP (out of state, above both 75ths). Iowa is not realistic for me, so I withdrew my application so someone else may take my spot. Best of luck!
