Touched down at JFK, turned airplane mode off, got excellent news by email! Here I was thinking I'd have to wait until Friday!

(Sorry - not exactly sure what UR means and if you can be both - assuming UR just means Under Review).

Accepted via email! Submitted 2/1, under review since 2/11 as well. Unsure whether or not any faculty review.

Thanks! I don't think I ever went into full faculty review. Would it SAY faculty review? Or would it just be a date change on an Under Review status?

I went complete on 2/10, and on 2/11 it said "Your file is under review" or whatever their wording was. The date didn't change and today I got the happy-mail.

What I wonder is how FR admits will be contacted. I thought Boalt usually did calls, but maybe they are changing things up.

They started out doing calls at the beginning of the cycle but have been mostly (if not only) doing emails lately. They said it was to get decisions out more quickly.

Has anyone filled out the supplemental Berkeley FinAid application? It asks for a Student ID...but seeing as I have not yet been admitted, i don't have one...

I was reading a FR thread from a couple of years back and they got their emails a day before the deadline.

I know that they have been assigned because I have been in communication with the financial aid office and the number is on the bottom of some of their replies. I don't know if it is important enough to call and ask them to look it up.

Edit: Sorry misread the post above. My response is only helpful if already admitted.

FR here--eagerly waiting for Friday (or before).

Anyone have a sense of how FR admit decisions are made, and if the criteria differs from adcom admit decisions (LSAT, GPA, etc.).

I have read that essays, softs, etc matter much more in the FR pool, where everyone is essentially the same "strong numbers" candidate or at least has been considered for a second review process.

I wouldn't send it now. It's so close to the deadline they've probably read you file by now and made the decision it might just annoy the adcomms. But that's just my opinion.
