Reserved today, complete 1/29. Disappointed given that it was my top choice.

This might be kind of a weird question, but do they ask you the same questions for the real interview as they do during the test run? Just curious.

Damn! I was way more affable and talkative during my test run.

Does anyone else feel you should be able to submit your test video as supplementary material?

That would be awful.. I think I just stared at the camera in silence for like 15 seconds during my test vid before I realized what was going on :o

In the "test run" they just ask you setup questions like "can you see yourself in the camera?", "is the lighting in the room good?", and "tell us a bit about yourself?". You're supposed review the recording right afterward to make sure you can hear the sound, the video looks good, etc. You can repeat the test run as many times as you want, and I'm 100% sure that the test run doesn't get saved for Cornell to look at. And I was totally joking about submitting it to Cornell.

You get only one shot at the real interview with the real questions.

I sure hope not - I'm pretty sure I just said "testing" the whole time while bobbing my head looking like an idiot :P

Are there other people who felt like their interview was very short? I didn't time mine, but it couldn't have been any longer than 4-5 minutes.

They are all that short; it sucks.

I just withdrew from their "several-hundred person" reserve list. Felt great. Good luck to everyone still hoping for a spot!

Funny, I thought my interview sucked. Something about the format really threw me off and I felt awkward as hell.

Wow you guys were not kidding about that LikeLive interview. I normally interview pretty well but that was a goddamn disaster. Yeesh. I think the question I dropped the ball on the most was Why Cornell (somehow the format made me nervous and I ran out of things to say early and had to click next -_-), so if this really was a YP interview, I'm not feeling great about this at all. :(

In by email. LikeLive went fine, I think. I expected to get in with my stats, but geography will probably keep me somewhere else.

I think just doing the interview shows your interest. I know personally that the day after I interviewed, I was admitted.

At least you're moving. I went complete just a few days after you and haven't changed.

Does Cornell automatically consider accepted students for scholarships or are there extra hoops to jump through?

Congrats! I think the interviews are just for YP. Would you mind sharing your UR dates?

A lot of interviews have been for YP purposes. If you had median numbers they probably felt comfortable admitting you without guaging your interest further.

Oh I see. Erm... I'll actually have to look those up, I wasn't monitoring the status checker too closely because I didn't really expect to get in. I'll PM them to you. I do remember that I happened to check it less a week before being admitted and it hadn't been updated in a while, and I was admitted a few weeks ago.

What does YP mean?

And thanks guys! :D

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
