NYU Waitlist 2017
Hey NYU waitlisters!
I get the impression that NYU has more movement from its waitlist than other t14 schools. Hopefully that's true this year.
Numbers from http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 2&t=225363:
Percent of applicants remaining on waitlist eventually admitted, past thee cycles:
NYU: 32.2% (214 applicants on LSN did not withdraw from the waitlist, 69 eventually admitted)
Percent of applicants remaining on waitlist eventually admitted, 2012-2013 cycle:
NYU: 42.6% (61 applicants on LSN did not withdraw from the waitlist, 26 eventually admitted)
Percent of all waitlisted applicants who are eventually admitted, past three cycles:
NYU: 22% (314 waitlists on LSN, 69 eventually admitted)
Percent of acceptances coming from the waitlist, past three cycles:
NYU: 6.8% (69 of 1,019 acceptances on LSN came from the waitlist)
Percent of applicants waitlisted, past three cycles:
NYU: 19% (314 of 1,654 applicants on LSN were waitlisted)
Percent of waitlisted applicants who withdrew from the waitlist, past three cycles:
NYU: 31.8% (100 of 314 waitlisted applicants on LSN withdrew)
• During the past three cycles, 473 applicants on LSN at/above that cycle’s LSAT median and at/above that cycle’s GPA median were straight admits while 28 were waitlisted. Of those waitlisted applicants, 16 withdrew from the waitlist and 3 were eventually admitted (25% staying on waitlist were admitted).
• During the past three cycles, 231 applicants on LSN at/above that cycle’s LSAT median and below that cycle’s GPA median were straight admits while 77 were waitlisted. Of those waitlisted applicants, 21 withdrew from the waitlist and 31 were eventually admitted (55.4% staying on waitlist were admitted).
• During the past three cycles, 168 applicants on LSN below that cycle’s LSAT median and at/above that cycle’s GPA median were straight admits while 123 were waitlisted. Of those waitlisted applicants, 39 withdrew from the waitlist and 18 were eventually admitted (21.4% staying on waitlist were admitted).
• During the past three cycles, 50 applicants on LSN below that cycle’s LSAT median and below that cycle’s GPA median were straight admits while 79 were waitlisted. Of those waitlisted applicants, 22 withdrew from the waitlist and 14 were eventually admitted (24.6% staying on waitlist were admitted).
• During the past three cycles, 105 applicants on LSN URM were straight admits while 55 were waitlisted. Of those waitlisted applicants, 20 withdrew from the waitlist and 6 were eventually admitted (17.1% staying on waitlist were admitted).

The seat deposit deadline is May 2nd, but based on last year's thread, it's clear that NYU takes some people of the WL weeks before the deadline.

So it looks like it's good to be a splitter on NYU's waitlist. Cool.

Re: NYU Waitlist 2017
Good luck guys!
Getting in or getting rejected off of NYU's waitlist will determine if I sit this cycle out or not. Well, sorta. I'm still waiting to hear back from Columbia (unlikely), and Stanford (HA! yea right.)
Absolutely, completely hope I get in, but I am at peace with doing a better job preparing for September LSAT & proceeding with the 2015 admission cycle if I don't get in to NYU for Fall 2014.
Again,
GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US!

WLed yesterday. Honestly surprised I even made it this far. Also on the WL at Columbia, Mich, and Duke. Going to ride this one out to the end!

Re: NYU Waitlist 2017
I somehow managed to land on the waitlist at NYU and Columbia while getting outright dings from Mich, Duke, and UVA. Granted, if I get off either list I will not complain.VivaWisconsin wrote:WLed yesterday. Honestly surprised I even made it this far. Also on the WL at Columbia, Mich, and Duke. Re: NYU Waitlist 2017
just got my NYU WL email this afternoon. guess it's better than an outright rejection! keeping my fingers crossed
i've been out of school for a while now, so have no transcript upgrades to provide them with, anyone else in the same boat? I was thinking of maybe describing some projects I've been working on at work that didn't make my resume... good luck to all!

Super grouchy about this WL. Being in good company makes it so much better though.... Hi all.

Hey all,
First post on TLS,
I did not consider NYU, Chicago, or Columbia still in play when I woke up this morning. I considered my cycle done and decision made.
Then I opened the NYU email.
Now I don't know what to think.
