I feel like we might be a bit too optimistic about this last round of interviews... It was like 20 interviews or something like that...

My guess would be they are prepping people for the June/July trickle of acceptances

I agree with you. Also, not to be Sir Pessimism but my guess is that those of us who didn't get good news yesterday are in it for the long haul. I don't discard the possibility of more acceptances later this week, but I think the probability is low.

Oh what I would give to have the opportunity to interview! Congrats to all those who did recently and to those who were accepted!
If I'm not mistaken, last year's first reported ding from the WL was late May. So to add to my post above, those of us who HAVE interviewed and didn't get good news yesterday could also be looking at an upcoming ding. Or am I getting too pessimistic?

There will be a ding wave soon enough... I would assume that post-WL JS1s for the most part will be spared though ( They need to keep around a decent number for summer melt, and unless an interview was awful I would assume post-wl JS1s are still in consideration).

Super excited to receive the admit call yesterday, but ultimately decided I'll be spending the next three years in NYC. Good luck to everyone else still waiting!

Congratulations to all of you!

One question, did all/most of you new admits have post-WL JS1s?

No I was a pre-WL js1 from December. I did have a js1b last week too.

Still no Oct/Nov JS1s with a JS2? Any thoughts on what that suggests about how they're choosing applicants if it's true?

I think we may have talked about this, but there is evidence to suggest a reverse-chronological review of the pre-WL JS1s. Don't lose hope! I NEVER thought I would get the call.

I've lost pretty much all hope now, which has actually made things a lot easier! I'd like to think the reverse chronological order theory is correct, but KB said it's unlikely a school would do that and even in the last wave it doesn't seem like pre-WL JS1s went back further than December (that being yours).

University of Chicago is a great school (I love their economics department) as well and you have a substantial scholarship offer from there. I do think you'll do fine there.

Some did, some didn't. It appears it's dependent on who your interviewer was.

Same here.

I have to pay my housing deposit within the next couple of days. At this point if I got a JS1, it would be bittersweet since I've sunk so much money into another school already.

We are overdue for dings (they had already started by this time last cycle and for the most part things have been 1 week ahead this cycle) and I expect them to come soon. There should still be JS2s and I'd love to be optimistic, but it's looking bad for most of us and especially bad for those without interviews. I've finally managed to get in the mindset that I won't be accepted and that has made it easier to swallow, though I'm sure actually getting the ding email will be tough even if predictable at this stage.

It's been a rough 7 months or so at HLS! I would've loved to say that it was worth it in the end, but it doesn't look like that will be the case. So many great options for most of us though, and those without them can try again!

How many do we have (including myself) in here with a Post WL JS1 still waiting for a decision?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
