Re: Harvard Waitlist 2017
Checking in. I didn't have a JS1. I got the email with the noon crowd. I've been lurking in the applicants thread, but with numbers below both 25ths, I felt like it would be jinxing it to post. I am overjoyed to still be in consideration. So many qualified candidates were WLed today. I am happy to be in such good company.
At this point, do I have any realistic shot? I've read several times that there is a decent chance of being accepted off of the waitlist. Any sage advice for a cautiously optimistic URM?

Thinking back to my JS1, I just remembered the last words of my interviewer: "Be ready for a long wait!" I'm just realizing I interviewed with a cartoon villain.

Re: Harvard Waitlist 2017
Is it safe to assume that if you haven't received JS1 and are waitlisted, your chance of getting admitted is lower than those who had their JS1?
Just got waitlisted today. above 75th GPA and 25th LSAT.

I think you can assume that if you've been given a waitlist offer, they would take you into their class. I think it depends a lot on how they want to fill their class when they need to pull people from the waitlist.
Remain hopeful, send a LOCI or something, and wait on!

Re: Harvard Waitlist 2017
As expected, just got WL as well. JS1 in December 2013, numbers hugging medians.
Can anyone confirm that in the last cycle, the earliest time to get in off of the WL is in mid-May? Also, I almost have to agree with the poster above that going in WL after a long wait since JS1 does not bode well for an applicant. Past cycles suggest that people who got JS1 while on the WL had a higher chance of admission than those already with a JS1.

May 22nd was the earliest WL wave IIRC. Interviews started in April.

There's a little data in the google doc in last year's thread: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 7&t=207522barrelofmonkeys wrote:Unfortunately, data on this is just...impossible.however wrote:Is it safe to assume that if you haven't received JS1 and are waitlisted, your chance of getting admitted is lower than those who had their JS1?
I don't think there's a difference, but feel free to sort and analyze.

the waitlist application said it will be a few days before your status checker status changes, correct?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
