Generally, what does it mean when a law school asks to see your fall grades before they make a decision?

It means that they want to see your fall grades before they make a decision. You're likely a borderline applicant.

Would you say good grades will push you over to an acceptance?

They might. "Good" is subjective. They definitely wouldn't hurt. But who knows what could happen with their/other applicants' cycles? Besides, does it matter at this point..? If it won't, will you not submit your fall grades? Lol.

True. I was just trying to get a feel of the situation and see if anyone else has had a similar experience so I can know what to expect. Thanks for your help!

There is absolutely no way to know. Just submit them and hope for the best.
