I graduated undergrad from Villanova. It's about 20 minutes (by train) outside of Philadelphia in perhaps the most affluent suburb of PA, the Main Line. There are a lot of hotels in the area. My family has stayed at hotels in King of Prussia, Radnor, and Wayne. If you want to be close to Citizens Bank Park, there are hotels within walking distance.

If you (or anyone else) would like info about Nova/the Main Line feel free to send me a message.

As far as bar areas go, you should check out Howl at the Moon, its a new piano bar in Center City. Or a more laid back place is McGillins which is the oldest Irish pub in Philly. It's fun and drinks are pretty cheap! There are a lot of great places in Center City in general.

I stayed at the Best Western in King of Prussia. MAybe 5 minutes from campus, and it is very easy to find. Some good bars in the area, but mostly chains, like tilted kilt, chillis etc.

Center City/Old City would be a good start. The Phillies play at Citizens Bank, located at the At&t stop all the way south on the Broad Street Line.

Gimme a price, how many people are travelling, and who's coming and I'll try and give you some good hotel suggestions. I don't necessarily suggest staying by campus since you're further away from Philly and would have to drive or take the train in, then down to the stadium.

You should hit up a Flyers game to get the fully Philly feel as well.

Thanks everyone for all of the suggestions. I wish I could catch a Flyers game but they will be playing in Pittsburgh that weekend.

Mach, my brother and sister-in-law will be meeting me there. We are all in our mid to late 20s so besides the Phillies game, we are looking for laid back and young adult aged bars. I would prefer to stay in Philly since the only thing I want to do outside of the major area is visit Villanova.

Anyone know what's going on in Philly April 11th weekend? Every hotel in Center City is booked.

I applied 2 months ago and just received email asking for clarification of my academic probation while in undergrad. According to law school numbers, my LSAT and GPA does not even come close to those admitted.

What are they chances they would actually admit me?

If they were going to deny me, why ask for clarification? I already submitted a GPA addendum with my original app. Are they asking for clarification just so they can consider my app complete so they can deny me or do I actually have a shot?

My guess is they wouldn't be asking if they weren't seriously considering you as an applicant. Good luck

"Upon initial review of your application, we noticed that you did not provide an explanation for your affirmative answer to questions 1, 2 and 3. Please respond to this email with full particulars of all circumstances surrounding your affirmative answer, including any relevant background information pertaining to the incident."

That is what they wrote in the email. Seemed like a standard form/automatic email so I'm not sure if that just went out as is their procedure or someone actually looked at my application and was seriously considering me and wanted further information.

I could not possibly get in with a 2.6 and 145, correct?

I'll be attending in the Fall as a 1L. I'm currently looking for housing now though. I've decided I want to live in the city and take the train into Villanova daily. If anyone is open to this as well and looking please pm me. I'm pretty open to living in various parts of the city, as long as it's convenient to metro stops.

I have put my deposit down at Villanova and am now in the process of looking for apartments. Anyone have any suggestions? COL is significantly higher than where I'm living now. The prices (and lack of laundry in actual apartments) are slightly shocking, especially when trying to keep costs low!

Ugh, housing is an absolute nightmare. I plan on trying to get a place this week, but some apartment places have nothing left already!

That's what I'm finding too! It's making me nervous! I can't make it up to look at places until after the 4th! I'm afraid I'll wind up blocked out of places!
