Just got my wild swag box yesterday. Really cool. I've been absolutely blown away with the effort and attention to detail that I've seen out of Penn State. From the prompt admissions decision to the personal phone calls and willingness to negotiate they've been absolutely flawless. I'm really counting on ASW to sell me on the school. I'm having a real tough time deciding between them and another school, but the more I learn about PSU the more I like it. The only thing scaring me off is the employment stats.

The law building is gorgeous and super modern. I would suggest spending time talking to students instead of attending the mock class if you've been to other open houses, I skipped it and had them all to myself asking all the questions I wanted to ask. The employment stats are especially bad for 2013, but the career placement staff touted the prospects for this year saying they are already surpassing the 2012 numbers(I would take this with a grain a salt).bugsy33 wrote:Just got my wild swag box yesterday. I'm still waiting for an answer on my scholarship increase request. Really want to attend here in August.

Emailed then about this and they gave me a call telling me they don't do any housing stipends but there were very nice in answering any questions I had.Squintz805 wrote:I would love to hear about this as wellMitchellcar wrote:Has anybody that has a full scholly been able to negotiate for any housing stipends?

Just made my deposit. Gonna need to find some housing. 26 years old here, giving up a profitable business to pursue my dream of being a righteous attorney.

Same here. Hopefully in 3 years we'll be happy with our decision.FrankieChains wrote:Just made my deposit. Gonna need to find some housing. 26 years old here, giving up a profitable business to pursue my dream of being a righteous attorney.

Depending on your budget, I suggest the Toftrees area, Copper Beech (either by yourself or with 2Ls/3Ls or maybe other 1Ls) or check craigslist which will allow you to find some less undergrad-filled smaller buildings that are not immediately downtown. Good luck and congrats!Nucky wrote:Same here. Hopefully in 3 years we'll be happy with our decision.FrankieChains wrote:Just made my deposit. Honestly it's probably a good sign. You'll probably hear back after the 15th when seat deposits are due. If not I would give them a call.

I'm also still under review and called last week. If you're admitted close to the deadline they will give you about 2 weeks to decide, they won't make you decide overnight. Doesn't help with seat deposits at other schools that you wouldn't have made if you had an acceptance, but at least it gives you time to decide about their deposit.bugsy33 wrote:dcoppo01 wrote:I'm still "under review." That's good to know that they will give you some time to decide after the deadline wish they would hurry with the decisions though. I would really like to know by the end of the week.PattyCake wrote:I'm also still under review and called last week. Waitlisted. Very surprised. The graph for this cycle on lawschoolnumbers.com indicated that I would probably accepted. Oh well.

Anyone attending one of the Admitted Students Dinners? I think I'm heading to the one in NYC.

You can't base anything off of just one year of stats. Now if this happens again next year then yea, maybe some cause for concern
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
