So do you think it's it safe to assume that if we received our acceptance letter+email from Rutgers-Newark and haven't heard anything in ~1 week, that we don't qualify for any merit-based aid?

Unfortunately, thats probably true. I think if you were awarded aid you would be sent an email immediately following your acceptance email and would probably also be something about it in your packet that you receive shortly after

in today, 23k w. 3.0 stip, thats pretty much full tuition ! Depending on if i get into my reach schools with money, RU will be my pick. I went to undergrad at RU on full tuition as well, so thank you to the RU Gods for smiling down on me.

congrats! prob will see u this fall! would u be dorming or commuting? i can't decide which one id rather do lol i heard university square is really good and that its smart to at least live on campus the first year .. any thoughts?

Rutgers in-state tuition, super easy! Just depends how many credits you complete a semester, for a better explanation:

I tried looking some more info on the web but can't find anything related at all to residency for tuition purposes to back up my anecdotal evidence. The only other thing I can provide is that all my friends had to move into an NJ address before the first day of class (this was 2011) to receive in state tuition. If you want more info and don't feel like dealing with the school I can ask them more information today, just let me know vl.

From reading posts from previous years, it appears to be easy to obtain in-state tuition rates. I think if you sign a 12-month lease somewhere in NJ before classes start, you can be eligible for in-state tuition.
