So do you think it's it safe to assume that if we received our acceptance letter+email from Rutgers-Newark and haven't heard anything in ~1 week, that we don't qualify for any merit-based aid?

Unfortunately, thats probably true. I think if you were awarded aid you would be sent an email immediately following your acceptance email and would probably also be something about it in your packet that you receive shortly aftert0va89 wrote:So do you think it's it safe to assume that if we received our acceptance letter+email from Rutgers-Newark and haven't heard anything in ~1 week, that we don't qualify for any merit-based aid?

So, i got a super late start this cycle and just sent my application in, hope it doesn't kill my chances. For those who already got their FD, did you find out within a 6-8 week time frame or faster/later?
stats-
URM, decent softs, 3.8 / 163

in today, 23k w. 3.0 stip, thats pretty much full tuition ! Depending on if i get into my reach schools with money, RU will be my pick. I went to undergrad at RU on full tuition as well, so thank you to the RU Gods for smiling down on me.legal-eagle wrote:mydasmarie wrote:AWESOME! free degree, cant get any better. hope to hear back by the end of the monthlegal-eagle wrote:mydasmarie wrote:So, i got a super late start this cycle and just sent my application in, hope it doesn't kill my chances. Does Newark offer a summer 'JumpStart' program like Camden does?

Rutgers in-state tuition, super easy! Just depends how many credits you complete a semester, for a better explanation:
Right here, mate.
I went to Rutgers Newark my first year of law school, my friends from out of state all got in state tuition.

That information isn't regarding residency for tuition purposes. It's about graduation requirements.MrMisiu wrote:Rutgers in-state tuition, super easy! Just depends how many credits you complete a semester, for a better explanation:

Touché!! I still stand by my latter statement, though. I tried looking some more info on the web but can't find anything related at all to residency for tuition purposes to back up my anecdotal evidence. The only other thing I can provide is that all my friends had to move into an NJ address before the first day of class (this was 2011) to receive in state tuition. If you want more info and don't feel like dealing with the school I can ask them more information today, just let me know vl.rwhyAn wrote:That information isn't regarding residency for tuition purposes. From reading posts from previous years, it appears to be easy to obtain in-state tuition rates. I think if you sign a 12-month lease somewhere in NJ before classes start, you can be eligible for in-state tuition.MrMisiu wrote:Touché!! I still stand by my latter statement, though.
