Do you know who the 2 are? Last I knew there were four:

Leonard M. Baynes
Professor of Law and Inaugural Director, The Ronald H. Brown Center for Civil Rights and Economic Development
St. John’s University School of Law

Jose Roberto (Beto) Juarez, Jr.
Former Dean
Professor of Law and Director of Lawyering in Spanish Program
University of Denver Sturm College of Law

Andrew Pettit Morriss
D. Paul Jones, Jr. and Charlene A. Jones Chairholder in Law and Professor of Business
University of Alabama

Matthew J. Parlow
Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor
Marquette University Law School

Unfortunately not, I just asked about the Dean situation and he rooks me it was between two and the board of reagents were deciding

I submitted my application last night for the evening program. So far I've received my login information for the status checker and a Texas Residency Questionnaire.

Thanks on info re: dean.

I am not sure I have noticed a consistent pattern. Sorry - I know the waiting is tough. I can tell you that I got an email saying there was a change in status about 6 weeks after my application went complete. The acceptance letter followed about 9 days later and scholarship info about 10-12 days after that. That process may be expedited now that its later in the cycle - I don't know.

My experience has been that the admissions folks are very helpful and responsive, even though I understand they are behind. I hope you hear something positive soon.

On an unrelated note - I want to say thank you for your service. It is appreciated.

Thank you for the kind words!

This is my first go at any kind of school application stuff and I have been completely taken aback by the availability and responsiveness of every school I have contacted with regards to their admissions department. I am actually hearing it so much so, that I would rather leave a voicemail and them call me when they are not busy so they can stay focused on processing apps! Anyone else? I truly have never experienced such wonderful customer service and time spent on the phone with these offices, while in the back of my head I am thinking they should really give me the short and to the point answer in order to get back to applications.

Illinois or Penn State probably. SMU could be a dark horse, but I haven't heard back yet. Can't realistically go to TAMU without a scholarship offer though.

Are you out of the window to receive a scholarship?
As I've said, they are losing applicants b/c it's taking so long. They should be throwing crazy money at applicants to get their stats up and help boost ranking!

This may be a crazy question, but this is actually my first application and the only school that I'm applying to. On the status checker it lists me as Perm. State of TX, but Residency says Out of State. Will this change when they process my application? Application Received-Unprocessed is the status at the moment.

I'll call them on Monday and find out. Since I'm a Texas resident I just want to ensure that they know that. I'm former military as well. In state tuition is free so that's the goal!

you should of hit up Texas Tech as well! I've already been accepted and they gave me a scholarship, which I hope gets negotiated much higher after seat deposits. Tech will refund you the remaining amount of scholarship not used towards fees; as long as Hazelwood hits first, which the financial aid director said he could personally help make that happen! They are military friendly and have a wonderful staff from my experience so far.

I would highly suggest applying still, they may accept you if you deserve a seat!

I am Still waiting on UT, UH, and A&M....... One of these guys is a new school and not highly ranked, wonder what the issue is.

Checking in. I just threw in a late app because I logged in and realized that this was still in my LSAC cart and practically free to apply.

Random question but my recommenders were having issues uploading the LORs and just sent them directly to me. Can I just send direct to the law school to put in my file?

I went ahead and submitted that TTU application. I had a fee waiver from a law school event I attended so I figured what the heck!

For TTU? I know that everyone was free for TAMU, but when I went to checkout for my TTU application there was a fee listed.

I just got a $20000 a year tuition "waiver" offer via email, renewable based on GPA stipulation. I'd been waiting for a while to hear something so hopefully everyone else is starting to hear as well!

Congrats!! If you don't mind sharing, what GPA meets the stip?

I've got a stip on my scholarship of top 25% instead of a #. My original scholarship offer was top 50% but I negotiated a higher overall scholarship in exchange for "betting on myself" and having to be in the top 25%.

Just an FYI, that 1L lockstep courses have a maximum median GPA of 3.0 per class.

Hi Mike,

By "maximum median GPA" in lockstep courses, do you just mean that a 3.0 puts you at about top 50%?

Thanks much!

Edit: I think I've answered my own question. 3.0 is the maximum average professors can allow for curve. Do you know of any profs there that have median at under a 3.0? Thanks for any insight.

from the admitted students event, I think the dean said all scholarships (at least mine) has a 3.0 GPA requirements.

Yep, you've got it. I haven't heard of any professors that have a median under 3.0, but then again, they don't post that anywhere that I'm aware of so we wouldn't know anyway and if we asked I don't know if they'd tell us. Supposedly, if a professor wants to have a median under 3.0 that's fine, but if they want to have a median over 3.0, they have to petition an internal board to hear their case as to why and to make the decision yes or no. We did have one professor 1st semester that warned us several times that she was not forced to raise grades to a 3.0 and that in her good conscience, if she felt we didn't perform at an acceptable level, she would not hesitate in making sure that we didn't get to the 2nd semester, irregardless of where she was supposed to set the curve.

If I remember correctly, the size of the 1L part time night program when I started 1st semester was around 95 or so, and now, when roll is passed around every night to sign, I think there is 73 or so still left.

Mike
