Would be nice if that was their new standard and they'd make it retroactive. I'm a current student and many of our stips are based on class rank percentage and not GPA. I'm still waiting on one more grade to come in, but I do think I'm going to be fortunate enough to keep my scholly, but there are a LOT of students that lose it.

Would be nice if that was their new standard and they'd make it retroactive. I'm a current student and many of our stips are based on class rank percentage and not GPA. I'm still waiting on one more grade to come in, but I do think I'm going to be fortunate enough to keep my scholly, but there are a LOT of students that lose it.

I do think that is their new standard. It is fixed. I wish that they would make it retroactive for you guys too. Even the 3.0 is relatively high compared to other schools and does make me nervous. Congrats on keeping the scholly, guess the property exam was survivable then - glad to hear.

Verdict still out on that one. That's the last one I'm waiting on. Took that exam on May 14 and STILL don't have my grade yet. Ugh. The one trait that everyone needs to either have or quickly develop is patience. LOL.

Just wondering if anyone in this thread had heard any news about the new UNT law school in downtown Dallas and how competitive it will be at first? Since both of these are relatively new I figured you guys would know if you think it will fare well at first or at least be good to negotiate

I believe that UNT is already taking a toll on A&M. From administrators I've spoken with around campus, the incoming part time evening program class is significantly smaller than in prior years. At least from last conversation with them (and it didn't seem to be from A&M being more selective, but more from applications being down) The scuttle around campus is that the SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper costs of UNT will grab a portion of the demographic that historically would have chosen A&M (Wesleyan) in the past.

I don't know if that same impact is being felt by the full time day division or the part time day division. It will be interesting to see if A&M makes a downward tuition adjustment in future years to become more price competitive or if it will use some form of the accreditation vs. provisional accreditation justification, or the fact that A&M qualifies for fed student loans and UNT doesn't, instead.

On a lighter note, we received our class ranks a couple hours ago for the first year, and ...................I'm officially keeping my scholarship Will make the drive to Summer school tonight a lot easier, LOL.

I'm surprised that UNT took such a toll on the numbers. I do think that its curriculum concept is a good one, but I thought the lack of accreditation would overshadow the lower tuition and diminish UNT's initial competitiveness and its effectiveness as a negotiation tool for the first few years. Wonder how the lower numbers will effect those of us heading in.

I understand. I grew up in Ohio, so similar weather. Knew a guy who transferred from my undergrad to Notre Dame (pre-med). Liked it. Think he probably graduated in 92 or 93.

Do not waste that gpa. Retake the LSAT this October, score 12-14 Pts higher and I bet you'll get some real nice #ched from SMU
